1028th -- The Night Peace Found Me

The peace of the Lord is a gift that cannot be bought, bribed or stolen.
It is a gift that comes to only those who have surrendered their life to
the Lord Jesus Christ and have given to Him all of their worries, fears
and failures. When we surrender our life to the Lord and ask for His
sustenance, we are humbly acknowledging our shortfalls and our need for
the Lord in our life. The humble heart will be healed and made whole
again. The one who bends his knees in prayer will be lifted up to stand
against every trial that comes their way. The Lord Jesus declares in
John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the
world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let
it be afraid.” When we depend on the Lord in every area of our life, we
will receive the benefits that come with it. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

The peace of God is a gift that surpasses all wealth, all fame and all
fortune. It is a gift that is sought by multitudes in many different
places, but it is only found in the secret hiding place of God Almighty.
He alone offers perfect peace that surpasses all understanding. The peace
that God gives, the world could never attain. The world tells us that we
need fame, riches, notoriety, etc. to be at peace and rest, but that is a
lie that comes straight from the pits of hell. No man can know true peace
unless it comes from the Lord God Almighty. When one is at peace in the
Lord, nothing can shake them or make them worry. No problem, no trial, no
setback or tribulation can rattle their faith or make them question God's
plan for their life. The one who is at peace stays at peace no matter the
circumstances that surround them. They are at rest in the Lord because
they know that all things will work together for good in their life
because they love God and they are called according to His purposes.

My friend if you don't have this perfect peace that I speak of I want you
to know that it can be yours today. God is not a respecter of persons.
If He offers peace to one soul, then every other living soul has the same
right to that same peace. You simply must acknowledge and repent of your
sins, your shortfalls and your iniquities and accept the Lord Jesus Christ
as your personal Lord and Savior. You have to do it for yourself. You
have to accept Christ for yourself. When you do, the same peace that
every Christian believer has will be yours as well. I want you to know
that every sin you ever committed can be forgiven when you confess it to
Christ and ask for His forgiveness. The Lord loves you and wishes for
you to commune with Him. He loved you so much that He died for you. Call
upon Him and receive the Peace that He offers to all who rest in His
finished work. (Isaiah 55:6-7) (Psalm 103:1-5) (Romans 10:9-13)

I hope this message encourages you to call upon the Lord if you need to
have peace in your life. Always remember that He loves you and wishes for
you to be at rest in Him.

THE NIGHT PEACE FOUND ME

My oldest son turned 24 recently. When it comes to the soul, however, time
is irrelevant and memory can melt away the years in a second. When I
looked at my grown son my mind took me back to one very special time only
a few weeks after his birth. I had awakened in the middle of the night
after hearing him stir in his cradle. My wife was still recovering from
the emergency c-section that was needed when complications occurred during
his delivery. Wanting to let her rest, I picked my boy up and slowly
walked into the living room.

Taking a bottle with me I sat down in our rocking chair and fed him while
I gently rocked us both. His loving, innocent eyes gazed up at me and I
smiled down at him. After feeding him and burping him I watched him fall
asleep on my shoulder. I continued to rock and looked out the window at
the starry, night sky. In that second, time stood still and I felt
something I had never felt before: true peace. All the worries of life
faded away. Every desire, want, and fear of the future seemed meaningless.
All the anger, frustration, hatred, greed, jealousy, envy, and sadness
that had plagued me in my life melted away from my heart. All that was
left was that moment of perfect peace. All that was left was a feeling of
oneness with God carried straight into my soul on the wings of love and
joy. I sat there with tears in my eyes, thanking God for my baby boy and
for this wondrous feeling of peace.

That special moment started a change in me. Material things soon lost
their importance. What I wanted instead was the peace that I had felt in
that moment. What I wanted was the joy and oneness with God that went with
it. What I wanted was to show everyone how to have it as well. Thankfully,
that peace isn’t hard to find. It is waiting for us in every loving choice
we make, prayer we pray, and thing we do. May it find you always.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Isaiah 26:3-4 “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on
Thee: because he trusteth in Thee. Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in
the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.”

Psalm 91:1-4 “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall
abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my
refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust. Surely He shall
deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou
trust: His truth shall be thy shield and buckler.”

Psalm 91:14-16 “Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I
deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known My name. He
shall call upon Me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and
shew him My salvation.”

Psalm 34:8-10 “O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man
that trusteth in Him. O fear the LORD, ye His saints: for there is no want
to them that fear Him. The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but
they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.”

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
