63rd -- Brighten Your Corner

Many people go through life feeling discouraged and defeated and think
there is nothing they can do to make a difference. If you are one of
these people, I want you to know there is a plan for your life and God has
much for you to do. We are all very important to the Lord and in God's
eyes there is not one person more important than the other. God is an
equal opportunity God and will entrust each one of us to do His work
according to the gifts and talents that He blessed each of us with. Never
think that you are not talented or have nothing to offer. Spend time in
prayer and ask the Lord to show you His will for your life and to guide
your steps to work according to His purpose. He is faithful to hear and
answer your heartfelt prayers.

This is a great poem that encouraged me to keep working for the Lord and
to try my best to make this world a better place. I hope you will be
encouraged as well by this poem.

BRIGHTEN YOUR CORNER

We cannot all be famous
or be listed in "Who's Who",
But every person, great or small,
has important work to do.

For seldom do we realize
the importance of small deeds,
Or to what degree of greatness
unnoticed kindness leads.

For it's not the big celebrity
in a world of fame and praise,
But it's doing unpretentiously
in an undistinguished way.

The work that God assigned to us,
unimportant as it seems,
That makes our task outstanding,
and brings reality to dreams.

So do not sit and idly wish
for wider, new dimensions
where you can put into practice,
your many good intentions.

But at the spot God placed you
begin at once to do,
Little things to brighten up
the lives surrounding you.

If everybody brightened up
the spot where their standing,
By being more considerate,
and a little less demanding.

This dark old world would very soon
eclipse the evening star,
If everybody brightened up
the corner where they are!

I want you to be encouraged and know that however small or large your
service unto the Lord is, that it does make a difference and your work is
not in vain. The Bible declares in Romans 12:4-7 that we are the body of
Christ and just like our physical body has many different parts; they all
work together to accomplish the same goal; whether it is riding a bicycle
or running in the street. Everything works together to accomplish that
goal. It is the same thing as the body of Christ; there are many
different areas we can do in serving the Lord but the goal is the
same; to show the love and saving grace of Jesus Christ.

Never feel that because your work is not recognized that you should just
give up and quit. The work you do is just as important as the preachers
who travel the world telling about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Always keep in mind that God's word never returns void and every seed you
sow in others will return a harvest, so never feel discouraged.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Romans 12:4-7 "For as we have many members in one body, and all members
have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and
every one members one of another. Having then gifts differing according to
the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according
to the proportion of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering:
or he that teacheth, on teaching."

Isaiah 55:10-11 "For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven,
and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring
forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return
unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall
prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."

Matthew 5:16 Jesus says "Let your light so shine before men, that they may
see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

All scriptures can be found in the King James Version.
