86th -- The Obstacle In Our Path

It is not always easy to go through life with problems and burdens trying
to keep us down, but if we change our thinking, the burdens we carry now,
though they seem to be too much to handle will in the end make us
stronger, wiser and much more capable then we were before the problem that
came along. I have heard from many friends and family members who say;
when they were going through the storms that life brings, they wish they
were never put in that circumstance, but now that they look back months
and years later, they see how that particular problem or situation made
them stronger, wiser and better equipped to handle whatever life brings
their way.

This is a good story that shows when we buckle down and tackle our
problems head on, we will be successful and reap the rewards of not giving
up. I hope you enjoy and learn from this short story.

THE OBSTACLE IN OUR PATH

In ancient times, a King had a boulder placed on a roadway. Then he hid
himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock.

Some of the king's wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply
walked around it. Many loudly blamed the king for not keeping the roads
clear, But none did anything about getting the stone out of the way.

Then a peasant came along carrying a load of vegetables.

Upon approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried
to move the stone to the side of the road. After much pushing and
straining, he finally succeeded.

After the peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed a purse
lying in the road where the boulder had been.

The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the king indicating
that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the roadway.

The peasant learned what many of us never understand. Every obstacle
presents an opportunity to improve our condition.

I encourage you not to be pessimistic when obstacles come in your path,
but be steadfast and determined to get through every problem and know with
God's help you will always be victorious and have treasure waiting for you
on the other side of that obstacle.

I encourage you to try and see the good in every problem that you go
through in life and count them as lessons learned. Be optimistic and see
the good and not the bad. God never promised life would be without
problems, but He did promise He would be with us and see us through every
obstacle. (Psalm 23:4) (Hebrews 13:5-6)

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Isaiah 45:2-3 "I will go before thee, and make the crooked places
straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the
bars of iron: And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden
riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which
call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel."

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth
us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are
in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of
God."

Romans 8:35,37 "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall
tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or
peril, or sword? Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors
through Him that loved us."

Psalm 37:3-5 "Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the
land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and
he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the
LORD; trust also in Him; and he shall bring it to pass."

All scriptures can be found in the King James Version.
