No matter the trials, tribulations and setbacks of life, we should always
remember that we are not alone in this world. Challenges may come our
way, but we don't have to face them alone. We have the support of family
and friends who are there to lift us up when we can't stand on our own.
We have the love of those closest to us who will be there for us no matter
what comes our way. Sometimes we just need to be reminded that we are not
alone in this world. When we face difficulties, many times we want to
face them alone because we believe the lie that nobody cares about our
well-being. The truth is people care more than we can possibly think or
imagine, we just have to allow them to come in and help us overcome our
challenges.
Overcoming challenges on our own will never be as easy as overcoming them
with someone by our side. Receiving encouragement, inspiration, and hope
from those closest to us helps us to believe in ourselves again and
motivates us to face our challenges with a renewed vigor and an unwavering
resolve that we will overcome and be triumphant over every obstacle in our
path. The support that we receive strengthens us from the inside out
because we are shown that we are loved and cared about. When these two
simple affirmations are received, our determination to overcome becomes
multiplied many times over.
Be encouraged to receive the support that you need to overcome the trials
in your path. Don't think of facing your obstacles alone because you will
find the road that is traveled alone much more difficult than when it is
traveled with the support, love and encouragement that comes with those
whom we love the most. We can think back on our past trials and see that
it was the blessing of having someone else with us that made overcoming
that trial that much easier. Always welcome help when you need it. Don't
face your challenges alone because thinking that you can do it on your own
may bring discouragement, depression and even failure.
The Bible emphasizes our need for help as we read in Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
“Two people are better than one, because they get more done by working
together. If one falls down, the other can help him up. But it is bad
for the person who is alone and falls, because no one is there to help.”
I encourage you again to receive help when you need it. Don't allow
pride, arrogance or ego to keep you from reaching the heights of victory
that God has for you.
I hope this message encourages and inspires your heart to see that we are
blessed beyond comprehension and we have many people in our lives ready and
willing to help us overcome the challenges in our path.
SAIL ON
My friend and neighbor gave me a book recently. It is called Parables From
The Sea and was written by Robbins Wolcott Barstow. What amazed me about
it was that in the first few pages I found a paragraph that describes my
friend perfectly. It goes: “I often think of the way some people are
always leaving trails of light and gladness as they sail on through life.
There must be a great many who do for I know a lot of them. They are the
kind of people you are happy to meet anywhere, in a shop or on a street or
at home.”
That quote made me think not only of my friend, but also of all the other
people over the years who have blessed my life’s voyage with their light
and gladness. There was my Mom and my Grandma whose shining love guided me
over the rough waters of childhood and all the storms that went with it.
There was my Aunt and my Dad who kept me sailing on through the heartbreak
after my Mom and Grandma died and back towards a joyous horizon once
again. There were my two brothers and three children who taught me how to
find the joy in life even on the fiercest days when the waves crashed
against my ship.
There were my teachers, neighbors, and friends who showed me the many ways
to steer my boat into the peaceful harbors of love and happiness that life
gives us. Each and every one of these people taught me a little more about
sailing the ship of my life. Each and every one of them showed me as well
to always look towards God’s North Star and to always set my sails with
the winds of His love.
May all of you always sail on towards greater love and joy in your own
lives. May all of you always bless those around you with trails of light
and gladness as well. But most of all may all of you always keep your
ships guided by God’s loving light and never forget the true place that
you are sailing towards.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:
Psalm 34:1-4 “I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall
continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the
humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the LORD with me, and
let us exalt His name together. I sought the LORD, and He heard me, and
delivered me from all my fears.”
Isaiah 40:28-29 “Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the
everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth
not, neither is weary? there is no searching of His understanding. He
giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might He increaseth
strength.”
Psalm 34:17-19 “The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth
them out of all their troubles. The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a
broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the
afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.”
Psalm 103:1-5 “Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless
His holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits:
Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who
redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness
and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy
youth is renewed like the eagle's.”
All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
