We should always do good deeds towards others because of the love of God
that we have in our hearts. The Lord Jesus declares to whom much is given
much is required. When God entrusts us with His blessings whether they be
financial, intellectual or emotional we should use what we have been given
to impart into someone else's life who isn't as fortunate as we are. We
have the privilege to be a blessing and we should use it. We shouldn't
become so selfish and self involved that we neglect to recognize the needs
of those around us. We cannot turn a blind eye to the needs of others and
simply think someone else can help to make them better. We must take the
initiative and allow ourselves to be that blessing. Whether you volunteer
your time, give financially to institutes who help individuals or simply
being a shoulder to lean upon and to listen to someone else, you should do
it with all of your heart and to the best of your ability. (Luke 12:48)
The Bible declares in 2 Corinthians 9:7 “Every man according as he
purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity:
for God loveth a cheerful giver.” God wishes for us to give not because
we have to, but because we want to. He loves a cheerful giver, He loves
when we do our good works with a pure heart because we love our fellow man
and desire to see them being made better. His command for humanity is
simple. The Lord Jesus declares in Matthew 22:37-38 “Thou shalt love the
Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy
mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like
unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” When we love our
neighbor as ourselves, we wish to see them healthy, happy and whole. We
want them to be as blessed as we are and when we act in a manner as the
Lord commands, we can help to be the catalyst to bring a better, positive
and uplifting change into the lives of those whom we are lucky enough to
be a part of.
Always remember and keep in mind that the one who gives also gains and the
one who makes himself available to be a blessing will also be blessed in
the end. It is all a part of sowing and reaping and God says when we sow
bountifully, we shall also reap bountifully. Think on how you can be a
blessing to someone else and make a conscious decision to do something
that will leave a mark that will never be erased or forgotten. You have
one life to use, so use it wisely. You will be proud of your actions in
the end. (2 Corinthians 9:6)
I hope this message inspires and challenges your heart to be a blessing to
someone else when you see the opportunity. Using your life to make a
difference is a legacy that you will be proud of.
GODLY GIVING
“But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your
right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your
Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” - Matthew 6:3-4
How many people do you know who truly give just for the sake of giving
because they know it is good and right to do? How many folks do you know
who offer their services, time and emotions, simply because they have a
real heart to help a fellow man?
I wish I could say I knew many such people, but, the reality is, few
individuals I know give out of a cheerful and loving heart expecting
nothing from man or God in return. Even in my own life, while my heart may
be acting in love, a small subtle part of me sometimes hopes that God will
offer me something in return, such as a prayer answered.
Unfortunately, God does not work this way. When a prayer is answered or a
blessing bestowed, our Creator does not issue it as some sort of reward
system or trophy for a job well done. No, my friends, God is above such
juvenile behavior, and when the Lord gives, He gives because it is good
and right to do so.
The next time you are moved to reach out and give to someone, whether it
be volunteering some time to help feed the homeless, work with cancer
patients, or offering a supportive shoulder to a friend in need, do so
expecting nothing in return, and the simple yet profound joy of knowing
you did the right thing because it was the godly thing to do, and not
because you would receive earthy recognition, will be all the reward you
will need!
God knows, not only our every word and deed, but He knows our true motives
behind our actions. Show God what is in Your heart today!

Read and meditate on these scriptures:
Galatians 6:9-10 “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season
we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us
do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”
Romans 12:15-18 “Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them
that weep. Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things,
but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of
all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with
all men.”
Hebrews 6:10 “For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of
love, which ye have shewed toward His Name, in that ye have ministered to
the saints, and do minister.”
Colossians 3:23-25 “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord,
and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of
the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. But he that doeth wrong
shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of
persons.”
