There are many people in this world who face trials and tribulations and
instead of staying in peace in those difficult times and allowing their
faith in God to sustain and strengthen them, they question God and want to
know why He has forsaken them. Instead of trusting that all things will
work together for their good, they murmur and complain against God blaming
the Lord for all of their troubles. In these challenging moments of life
that make us want to question our faith, we must remember and keep in mind
that God does not bring the difficulties. We have a real enemy called the
devil who tries his best to discourage our hearts, to make us question
God's love and ultimately he wants us to give up in life. The one who
gives up or comes close to it is the one who the devil delights in.
Another person might say they want God to speak to them to assure them
that all will be well. My answer would be that God does speak to us every
day in many different ways. The Lord speaks to us through the still small
voice of the Holy Spirit encouraging us to continue on because His
strength is made perfect in our weakness. He speaks to us through His
Word to reassure us that the victory will be ours if we just stay in faith
and trust in His perfect will. He speaks to us through our family and
friends who support us and lift us up when we are feeling low and He may
be speaking to you now through this message letting you know that you are
neither forgotten nor forsaken. His promises for us are for good and not
evil. The Lord will perfect that which concerns us. We simply must
continue in faith and not allow the enemy to make us question God's love
for us. God's love is so great for you and I that He willingly died on a
cross for our sins. He died in our place so that we might live eternally
in Him. (1 Kings 19:12) (2 Corinthians 12:9) (Psalm 138:8)
Always remember God's great love for you. Don't ever think that He has
left your side. See your problems with a renewed outlook. Don't see them
as weights pulling you down, but rather see them as stepping stones
lifting you higher than you ever were before. Looking at problems as
stepping stones to greater heights is what strengthens our resolve to
never give in and never give up. When we know a reward is waiting ahead
of the problems then we will overcome those difficulties with a renewed
vigor and with an unfailing determination. Be determined to overcome, to
push through, to stay steadfast in faith and to trust the Lord above all
else. He loves you and wishes for you to triumph.
I hope this message inspires and challenges your heart to see that the
goodness of God surrounds you despite the temporary difficulties in your
path. By focusing on the good, we will have determined that our outcome
will follow suit.
YOU CAN SEE GOD
I sat at my desk staring at the letter for a long time. It was written by
a friend of mine who was going through some difficult times. It listed
problem after problem and seemed full of despair. It ended with these
words: “I would like to have faith, but I have always had a problem in
believing in what I can’t see. You can’t see God, you know!”
After awhile I still hadn’t thought of how to answer my friend’s letter
and help him. Hoping a walk would help, I put a leash on one of my dogs
and headed out the back door. The warm, golden sunshine of Spring warmed
my face as soon as I stepped off the porch. A fresh breeze carried the
scent of a thousand budding trees on it. A butterfly danced above a patch
of dandelions floating from flower to flower. Robins were flying back and
forth to the Maple tree in my backyard carrying fresh grass and twigs to
reline their nests. Across the road my new neighbor’s children were
playing in her backyard with a big ball. It was such a delight seeing her
toddler chasing after it with such joy.
I felt a nuzzle against my leg and looked down to see my dog cuddling in
for a hug. I smiled and scratched his head while the laughter of the
children and the sound of crickets in the woods blended together to create
unique and beautiful music. I started to walk back inside and saw my own
son grinning at me from the window. Most of the world could only see his
mental handicaps, but when I looked at him his eyes sparkled with a divine
light. I waved to him and laughed when his older sister snuck up behind
him and wrapped him in a loving hug.
When I got back inside, I knew what to write. I went to my friend’s letter
and wrote of everything I had just seen, smelled, heard, and felt in those
brief moments outside. Then I finished by writing this: “I think we all
can see God! We just need to know where to look!”

Read and meditate on these scriptures:
Jeremiah 33:3 “Call unto Me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great
and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”
Psalm 138:6-8 “Though the LORD be high, yet hath He respect unto the
lowly: but the proud He knoweth afar off. Though I walk in the midst of
trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth Thine hand against
the wrath of mine enemies, and Thy right hand shall save me. The LORD will
perfect that which concerneth me: Thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever:
forsake not the works of Thine own hands.”
Isaiah 30:21 “And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This
is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye
turn to the left.”
Psalm 23:1-4 “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to
lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He
restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His
name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they
comfort me.”
Joshua 1:9 “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be
not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee
whithersoever thou goest.”
Psalm 28:6-8 “Blessed be the LORD, because He hath heard the voice of my
supplications. The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in
Him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my
song will I praise Him. The LORD is their strength, and He is the saving
strength of His anointed.”
