It is important that we have the mindset of never giving up. Despite our
shortfalls and our failures, we have the assurance from the Lord that a
new beginning is possible no matter our history. Many times people feel
like giving up because they allow their past to hinder how they see their
future. They allow their past shortfalls to keep them stagnant in this
present time and instead of using those lessons to climb higher, they stay
in a rut of self-pity. What we must always keep in mind is that our life
serves a purpose to bring ourselves as well as others up from the miry
clay and into a new, clear and blessed future that is ahead of each of us.
Believe that your life can be used to make a difference. Know that you
are on this earth for a reason. The lessons that you have learned in the
past are meant for the blessing of your future. You can rise higher,
become better and use all that you have learned to excel in life. Don't
look at your past as a waste or as a failure. See what you have learned
and use that for your betterment. Every trial, every heartache, every
challenge and every failure serves a purpose in teaching us lessons that
we could have never learned otherwise.
Some people wish they could travel through life on flowery beds of ease,
but I can assure you that type of existence does not strengthen one's
resolve and does not give them a backbone of steel. Only by going through
the fire can one become strengthened to endure and overcome the challenges
of life. We need the fire because it helps to refine us into the purest
form of ourselves.
Be encouraged to use all that you have learned to your benefit. Use the
trying times, the difficult times, the heartbreaking times to reach
towards a higher level in life. See that you are stronger now because of
what you went through and use that as motivation to excel, to overcome and
to be all who God has made you to be. Smile my friend because your story
is far from being finished. Praise the Lord for His Mercy, His Grace, His
Forgiveness and His Love that never diminishes towards us His beloved
children.
I hope this message inspires and challenges your heart to try again despite
any past failures and believe that all things are possible with God.
UPS AND DOWNS
My kids keep asking me if I'll bounce on the new trampoline with them. I
keep telling them that I can bounce without the trampoline, thank you very
much. Besides I could get hurt on that thing. Not just the average
compound fracture either. You see, women nearing mid-life don't want to
sass gravity.
It's one more reminder that life definitely has its ups and downs. Let me
bounce this idea off of you: For every “down,” God gives us an opportunity
to be someone else's “up.” Second Corinthians 1:3-5 says, “Praise be to
the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and
the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we
can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have
received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our
lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.”
Isn't it amazing that the Lord can use our own down times to help others
in theirs? And according to this passage, for every down we suffer, Jesus
gives a comfort that reaches so much deeper than the “down.” His love and
comfort reach beyond any hurt. Psalm 34:17-20 says, “The righteous cry
out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in
spirit. A righteous man may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him
from them all; he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.”
We can't come up with a bad experience that's bigger than His comfort. No
matter what we suffer, it's covered. Yes, even a trampoline triple
compound fracture! Covered! His comfort is big enough to cover it all. Not
only cover it, fill it. Not only fill it, but overflow it!
Knowing the Father of Compassion is ready with comfort in mass quantity
can add a little bounce to any day. The good kind of bounce. And knowing
the Lord is working in our lives through our valleys puts an entirely new
spin on the down times we suffer. Second Corinthians 4:17 says, “For our
light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that
far outweighs them all.” Now there's the kind of uplifting message that's
guaranteed to put a bounce in your step. No duct tape required.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:
Psalm 5:1-3 “Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my meditation. Hearken
unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto Thee will I pray.
My voice shalt Thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I
direct my prayer unto Thee, and will look up.”
Psalm 37:3-6 “Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the
land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord; and
He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the
Lord; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass. And He shall bring
forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.”
Isaiah 43:18-19 “Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the
things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth;
shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers
in the desert.”
Isaiah 55:8-9 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your
ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the
earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than
your thoughts.”
Psalm 103:1-5 “Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless
His holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits:
Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who
redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness
and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy
youth is renewed like the eagle's.”
