1074th -- Be A Donor

I have written many messages on being a giver, a helper and an encourager
of others. I do so because I know the benefits that come in helping
others to become wiser, stronger and better than they were before. When
we do for others what they can't do for themselves, we are giving them a
gift that is priceless, eternal and something that will never be forgotten.
Our good works will live on in their hearts because we imparted into them
a need that wasn't fulfilled yet in their life. When we bring encouragement
or inspiration to someone who is down or discouraged, we are rekindling
the fire within their spirit and we are letting them know that their story
isn't finished yet.

People sometimes forget how special they are and they start believing the
lie that their life has no meaning or purpose. Our job as ambassadors of
Christ is to be that beacon of light and hope to let them know that they
are more special than they know and they have a greater purpose than they
can ever think or imagine for themselves. When we remind those who are
down or discouraged how special they are, how loved they are and how much
they mean to us, we are helping to reignite their zeal for life and
living. They will see their value, they will know that others care for
their well-being and they will feel wanted and sometimes simply knowing
that you are wanted can change one's life forever.

Let this message be an encouragement for you to be an encourager, an
intercessor and one who simply tries their best to better their fellow
man. When we do all that we can with what we have to help make someone
else's day a little bit better, we are using our life in a way that we can
be proud of for the rest of our lives. Helping to ease someone's burden
lightens the load of both people in the end.

I hope this message challenges and inspires your heart to see how givers
gain and how those who take the initiative to be a blessing are also
blessed in the end.

BE A DONOR

My children gave me a new wallet as a Father’s Day present this year. It
was the perfect gift choice considering the moldy, worn, lump of leather I
had been using was well past its prime. I took the opportunity as well to
toss out any cards, notes, or scraps of paper in it that were no longer
needed. As I emptied out the old wallet I was amazed at how much it held.
Gingerly I went through its contents piece by piece and moved them to
their new home. As I was looking at them I came across the organ donor
card that I had signed nine years ago. Thankfully, it hadn’t yet been
called into use. Still, it felt good knowing that if something should ever
happen to me I would be giving another person here a second chance at life.

As I placed the card into my new wallet I started thinking about all the
other things we can donate to help others today. We can donate our time.
We can donate our talents. We can share our wisdom. We can give our
kindness. We can bless others with our laughter. We can shine our light
into the darkness. We can donate every bit of love and joy inside of us.
And the greatest thing of all is that when we do, we find that we have
even more to share than when we started. That is one of our Heavenly
Father’s greatest miracles: the more you give to others the more God gives
to you. The more you shower others with your love, the more God showers
your soul with His.

If you wish then by all means sign an organ donor card so you can give
something back after you die, but don’t be afraid to also give something
now while you are still alive. Be a donor. Make your entire life here a
gift to others. Donate all those wonderful things inside of you to make
this world a better and brighter place. Give with a cheerful heart and a
loving spirit. Give from the fullness of your soul and then watch as God
fills it even fuller.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

James 2:14-17 “What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath
faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be
naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart
in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those
things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith,
if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.”

1 John 4:7-11 “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and
every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not
knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God
toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world,
that we might live through Him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but
that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.”

1 Peter 3:8-11 “Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of
another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: Not rendering evil
for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that
ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. For he that
will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil,
and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good;
let him seek peace, and ensue it.”

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
