It is important that we always have the right perspective in life. We
should always see the challenges, the difficulties and the setbacks that
come our way as opportunities to learn something new and become better
than we were before that situation. We must have the right attitude
despite the wrongs that come our way and have a strong resolve that every
negative will be used for our benefit and our betterment. When we have
our minds made up that we will look at the good no matter how tempted we
are to focus on the bad, then we are making a conscious decision that no
matter what may come our way, we will come out of that situation better
than we were before it.
We must remember and keep in mind that life is all about choices. We have
a choice on how we will lead our life. We have a choice when we wake up
every morning. We can either wake up and say “Good Morning Lord” or we
can say “Oh Lord, it's morning.” We can look at our cup as being
half-full or half-empty. It is all within our power on how our days will
be spent. We can be at peace and filled with joy and contentment or we
can murmur, complain and have pity party about all that is going wrong in
our life. Doing the latter will only make our life more miserable and
more difficult, but if we dare to believe God's Word and trust that all
things will work together for good to them that love God, to them that are
all according to His purposes, then we will have a trusting faith
believing that nothing can come our way without God already making
provision for it. (Romans 8:28) (Philippians 4:19) (Hebrews 13:5-6)
I encourage you to see every challenge that comes your way as an
opportunity to make you better. See every challenge, every setback, every
detour as a chance to improve your life. How can a negative situation
improve your life you might ask? The answer is very simple; through the
challenges, we gain wisdom, we gain patience, we gain understanding, we
gain sympathy, we gain humility, we gain resolve, we gain faith and trust
in the Lord and most importantly we gain in Love for God because at the
end of that trial or challenge we see how the Lord worked it all out for
our good. (Romans 5:1-5) (Ephesians 3:20-21)
He is faithful to us much more than we could ever think or imagine. Our
job is to have the right attitude and the right perspective while we are
going through that situation and when we do, we will come out of it as
Purely Refined Gold. Be encouraged to have and keep the right perspective
all the days of your life and you will see your days blessed beyond
measure. (Isaiah 30:21) (Proverbs 3:5-6)
I hope this message encourages and inspires your heart to see every
challenge as an opportunity to become better than you were before.
LOOKING FOR DIAMONDS
Albert Einstein said, “In the middle of every difficulty lies opportunity.”
Once discovered, such opportunities are like valuable diamonds hidden in
the sand.
Several years ago I spoke at church about how we are surrounded by
“diamonds,” if we could only recognize them. A man stopped by to see me. I
remembered him as somebody who had suffered through a painful divorce and
was examining his life's priorities. His outstretched hand contained a
small, plastic gem stone.
“I stepped on this gem stone when I was leaving church last Sunday,” he
explained. “It became lodged in the sole of my shoe. You had spoken about
recognizing opportunities - diamonds. I put the plastic stone in my pocket
to remind me to look for those diamonds that I need.”
“I have been trying to sell my business,” he continued. “On Monday morning,
a man stopped by who seemed interested in purchasing some of my stock. I
thought, 'Here's my diamond - don't let it get away!' I sold the entire
stock to him by noon.”
“Now,” he said through a broad smile, “my next diamond is to find a new job!”
Not long afterward he did find a new and better job. He resolved to keep
his gem stone with him from then on as a reminder to look for diamonds as
he digs through the difficulties of life.
Richard DeVos is accurate when he points out, “This is an exciting world.
It is cram-packed with opportunity. Great moments wait around every
corner.” Those moments are diamonds that, if left unrecognized, will be
forever lost.
Are you looking for diamonds every day? If not, you may easily pass them
by! Perhaps there is a diamond of opportunity hidden in that difficulty
you're experiencing now.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:
Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto
thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall
direct thy paths.”
Romans 5:1-5 “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God
through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into
this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And
not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation
worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And
hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our
hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”
Philippians 1:6 “Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath
begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
Ephesians 4:29-32 “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth,
but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace
unto the hearers. And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are
sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and
anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all
malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one
another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.”
