The Lord has spoken to my heart recently concerning how faithful He is to
His Word. I was meditating on a few scriptures when the Lord led me to
write a message about the fulfillment of prophecy that God has made
throughout the Bible. I wasn't planning on writing a message like this,
but I will follow God's leading and I'm sure the end result will be a
blessing.
The word Prophecy is defined in the dictionary as, a prediction of the
future made under divine inspiration. I believe the reason God made so
many prophecies through His chosen servants throughout the Bible is for
one simple reason; so that we may have confidence in the Lord and know
that if God said it, then it will come to pass.
I was reading from the book of Matthew and noticed the many instances that
prophecy was being fulfilled right before my eyes. The predictions that
Jesus would be born of a virgin, that He would save His people from their
sins and that Jesus would be raised from the dead have all come to pass
and there are many more that will come to pass just the same, so that
God's Word will be completely fulfilled. (Matthew 1:21-23) (Romans 6:9-10)
Here are a few fulfilled prophecies that I would like you to read:
Prophecy -- Old Testament
Isaiah 7:14 "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a
virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call His name Emmanuel."
Fulfillment of Prophecy -- New Testament
Matthew 1:20-23 "…behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a
dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary
thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she
shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call His name JESUS: for He shall
save His people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be
fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a
virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall
call His name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us."
-------
Prophecy -- Old Testament
Isaiah 53:4-5 "Surely He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows:
yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was
wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the
chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are
healed."
Fulfillment of Prophecy -- New Testament
Matthew 8:16-17 "When the even was come, they brought unto Him many that
were possessed with devils: and Jesus cast out the spirits with His word,
and healed all that were sick: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken
by Isaiah the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our
sicknesses."
-------
Prophecy -- Old Testament
Isaiah 53:11-12 "He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be
satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for
He shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him a portion with
the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong; because He hath
poured out His soul unto death: and He was numbered with the transgressors;
and He bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors."
Fulfillment of Prophecy -- New Testament
Mark 15:27-28 "And with Jesus they crucify two thieves; the one on His
right hand, and the other on His left. And the scripture was fulfilled,
which saith, And He was numbered with the transgressors."
Prophecy should not only be thought of by intellectuals or people that
have twenty different degrees in Theology, but we as normal individual
believers should think about and thank God for the prophecies that have
and will come to pass. I wanted to share with you these few fulfilled
prophecies so that you may see and know that God will always be faithful
to His word and meeting the needs of His people.
We need to show ourselves strong and confident in the Lord and know that
we will have the victory. God has already done all the work on our behalf
and now all we have to do is receive it for ourselves. Jesus died on the
cross for All mankind, but the difference between the saved person and the
unsaved person is; the saved person recognized their sin and in faith,
repented and received Christ for themselves. (Romans 10:12-13) (1 John 1:9)
It is the same thing if you are in need physically or financially. God
does not need to do any more work on our behalf, but we need to stand
strong and on God's Holy Word and claim our physical healing and our
financial breakthrough by saying it, believing it and receiving it, in and
through the mighty name of Jesus Christ. (Mark 11:24) (Matthew 7:7-8)
I want you to be encouraged and never listen to people's pessimistic
comments, but rather stay faithful to God and continue in your believing
and confessing of God's promises and you will see the answer to your
prayers all come to pass. (Romans 3:3-4) (Malachi 3:10)
Read and meditate on these scriptures:
John 1:1-3 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and
the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were
made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made."
Deuteronomy 28:12-13 "The LORD shall open unto thee His good treasure, the
heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the
work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt
not borrow. And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and
thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou
hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee
this day, to observe and to do them."
Malachi 3:10 "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may
be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts,
if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing,
that there shall not be room enough to receive it."
All scriptures can be found in the King James Version.
Remember: God has been faithful in doing His part, so let us stay faithful
in doing our part and we will have every need met by the power of Almighty God.
In Christ Service,
