I am a firm believer in the assertion that the greatest of givers are also
the ones who gain the most. When we have an open heart and we are willing
to share with others what we have graciously been given, then we are
becoming life changers in this world. What is a life changer? It is
someone who takes the initiative to be a blessing for no particular
reason. It is someone who wants others to rise higher, stand taller,
achieve more and become all that God has made them to be. Can we do that?
Can we effectively help to change someone's life? The answer is yes.
There are so many people in this world who are discouraged, disheartened
and feel like giving up. When we take the initiative to be a blessing, we
are not only helping others in their present circumstances, but also in
their future to come. (Galatians 6:1-4) (Luke 6:31)
We may think it's a small thing to do a good deed, share a kind word, give
a heartfelt hug, share a loving smile, but each of these simple gestures
of love can do so much to show someone else that they are cared for,
thought about and greatly loved. What we must always remember and keep in
mind is that our kind acts don't stop with us. We can imagine them as
pebbles thrown in a lake. Once the pebble is thrown, the ripple effects
that come from it takes on a life of their own. But the ripples could not
have been started until the pebble was first thrown in. That is how we
should think of our life. We should see that every kind word, every kind
gesture, every amount of love shown, every dollar given are just like
pebbles thrown in the lake that will create ripples farther than the eye
can see or the mind will ever fully know. (James 1:22-27) (James 5:7-11)
I pray that you have received this word into your heart and know that your
life is significant and can be used to make a difference that will never
be forgotten or erased.
I hope this message inspires and challenges your heart to be quick to pay
it forward in life. The same goodness that you have received, you will
also impart in the lives of those around you. That is a life that we can
be proud to have lived.
PASS IT ON
Growing up in my Grandma’s house as a boy was an experience that would
shape me for the rest of my life. We were poor in everything but spirit,
yet I learned so much about life there. My Mom, Dad, Nana, two brothers,
and I were crowded into a home made from two old shanty cars and several
built on rooms. I always knew what my next set of clothes would look like
because I had seen my older brother wearing them the year before. I always
knew what we were going to be eating in the Winter, because I had weeded
it in the garden during the Summer. Still, I never felt poor. No king ever
ate as good as we did on Sundays after church when Nana cooked her homemade
meatballs, spaghetti, and freshly baked bread.
Even though we had so little I can still remember Dad, Mom, and Nana giving
so much. We were always sharing with others. Everyone who visited us could
expect a plate of spaghetti, or a mason jar of canned vegetables, or a
flower pot full of fresh blossoms to be given to them. I can still
remember the sparkle in Mom and Nana’s eyes whenever they passed something
on to others. We never felt richer or more blessed than when we shared
what God had given us. I learned early on that the greatest joy comes from
giving rather than getting. Giving fills your heart with love. Giving fills
your soul with God. Giving brings your spirit closer to Heaven.
Don’t be afraid to pass on your blessings, riches, gifts, and talents to
others. That is why God gave them to you in the first place. Share
everything you have. If you have a beautiful smile then pass it on. If you
have a lovely laugh then pass it on. If you have a few extra dollars then
pass them on. If you give great hugs then pass them on. If you have a
special talent then share it with others. If you have a heart full of love
then give it to the everyone. No life is ever truly lived until it becomes
a gift in itself, so make your whole life a gift to the world.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:
1 John 4:7-11 “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and
every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not
knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God
toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world,
that we might live through Him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but
that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.”
2 Corinthians 9:7-8 “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so
let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful
giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye,
always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.”
James 2:14-17 “What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath
faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be
naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart
in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those
things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith,
if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.”
1 Peter 3:8-11 “Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of
another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: Not rendering evil
for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that
ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. For he that
will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil,
and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good;
let him seek peace, and ensue it.”
