12th -- I Refuse To Be Discouraged

This is a beautiful poem that encouraged me in knowing that God is still
in control and nothing can happen that my God cannot handle and take care
of. I hope it blesses you as it has blessed me.

I REFUSE TO BE DISCOURAGED

I refuse to be discouraged,
To be sad, or to cry;
I refuse to be downhearted,
and here's the reason why...
I have a God who's mighty,
Who's sovereign and supreme;
I have a God who loves me,
and I am on His team.
He is all wise and powerful,
Jesus is His name;
Though everything is changeable,
My God remains the same.
My God knows all that's happening;
Beginning to the end,
His presence is my comfort,
He is my dearest friend.
When sickness comes to weaken me,
To bring my head down low,
I call upon my mighty God;
Into His arms I go.
When circumstances threaten
to rob me from my peace;
He draws me close unto His breast,
Where all my strivings cease.
And when my heart melts within me,
and weakness takes control;
He gathers me into His arms,
He soothes my heart and soul.
The great "I AM" is with me,
My life is in His hand,
The "Son of the Lord" is my hope,
It's in His strength I stand.
I refuse to be defeated,
My eyes are on my God;
He has promised to be with me,
as through this life I trod.
I'm looking past all my circumstances,
To Heaven's throne above;
My prayers have reached
the heart of God,
I'm resting in His love.
I give God thanks in everything,
My eyes are on His face;
The battle's His, the victory is mine;
He'll help me win the race.

In Psalm 34:1 it says, "I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise
shall continually be in my mouth." We need to be praising and thanking
the Lord at all times and let Him know that we are trusting in Him and not
in our own abilities as it says in Philippians 4:6-7, "Be anxious for
nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving,
let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which
surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through
Christ Jesus."

I believe that trusting in the Lord in the good times and the bad times
pleases the Lord because we are showing our Faith in Him. In Job 13:15 Job
says, "Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him." God loves us and will
never give us more than we can handle and will see us through each and
every trial if we keep focused on Him.

I leave you with this verse, read and meditate on it: 1 Thes. 5:16-18
"Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks:
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."

Everlasting in Christ,
