There are many Scriptures that I think and meditate on and one of them is found in James 4:14 “... For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away.” I think about this Scripture often because it reminds me that I have a short time on this Earth. I am not given an eternity on this earth to do the things that are most important, but rather I have been given a very short time when compared to the forever of eternity. For this reason, I believe we should always be time conscious so that we won't find ourselves wasting our time doing things that have no relevance or importance when it comes to our eternity. (Job 34:15) (Hebrews 12:1)
What we must always remember and keep in mind is that the things that we do with our life will be carried over into our next life. The blessings we bestowed, the joy we imparted, the love that we shared will all be a part of us for all eternity. The Lord Jesus declares in Matthew 6:19-21 “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” (Luke 6:31-36) (1 John 4:10-12)
Our true treasures are not found in the possessions that we accumulate, but they are found in the lives of those whom we were fortunate enough to impart a blessing upon. The blessings, Joy and happiness that we share with our family, friends, and even strangers with whom we took the time to say a kind word or do a kind deed will be a part of our treasures as well. I encourage you to think about your time. Are you wasting it away? Are you doing things that have no importance? See the brevity of your days and make an extra effort to use each day to the fullest. Build up your treasures in heaven by leading your life by the example that Christ has set forth. Love your neighbor, esteem others higher than yourself, forgive quickly, welcome all and harm none. Doing these simple things every day will ensure a great treasure will be awaiting you when the Lord welcomes you home on that Glorious Day. (John 13:34-35) (Philippians 2:2-3)
I hope this message inspires and encourages your heart to live each day with purpose and do all that you can to make it a blessing to yourself as well as to those around you.
WINTER IS HERE
You know, time has a way of moving quickly and catching you unaware of the passing years.
It seems just yesterday that I was a young girl, 19 years old just married and embarking on my new life with my husband.
And yet in a way, it seems like eons ago almost 45 years, and I wonder where all the years went. I know that I lived them all...And I have glimpses of how it was back then and of all my hopes and dreams...
But, here it is...the winter of my life and it catches me by surprise...How did I get here so fast? Where did the years go and where did my babies go? They are grown up now with families of their own. And where did my youth go?
I remember well...seeing older people through the years and thinking that those older people were years away from me and that winter was so far off that I could not fathom it or imagine fully what it would be like...Oh this is so true.
But, here it is...husband retired 9 years ago and he's really getting gray...he moves slower and I see an older man now. He's in much better shape than me...but, I see the great change...
Not the one I married who was dark and young and strong...he is still pretty strong, but, like me, his age is beginning to show and we are now those older folks that we used to see and never thought we'd be.
Each day now, I find that just getting a shower is a real target for the day! And taking a nap is not a treat anymore...it's mandatory! Well for Dad cause if he doesn't on his own free will...He just falls asleep where he sits!
And so, now I enter into this new season of my life unprepared for all the aches and pains and the loss of strength and ability to go and do things.
But, at least I know, that though the winter has come, and I'm not sure how long it will last...This I know, that when it's over...I will enjoy the Spring in the arms of my loving Father...and wait for my loved ones to come when their winter is over too...
So, if you're not in your winter yet...let me remind you, that it will be here faster than you think. So, whatever you would like to accomplish in your life please do it quickly!
For remember that scripture...our life is but a vapor, it vanishes away...So, do what you can today, because you can never be sure whether this is your winter or not!
You have no promise that you will see all the seasons of your life...so, live for the Lord today and say all the things that you want your loved ones to remember...

Read and meditate on these scriptures:
Galatians 5:22-26 “...the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.”
Ephesians 4:23-27 “And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil.”
1 Thessalonians 5:14-15 “Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.”
Revelation 22:12-14 Jesus declares “And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.”
