God has promised to protect those who have put their trust and life in His
hands. The Bible declares in Psalm 34:7 "For the angel of the Lord guards
all who fear Him, and he rescues them." We should always be confident in
the fact that God holds us in the palms of His hands and nothing shall by
any means can ever overtake us. (Isaiah 49:13-17)
I hope you'll be blessed by this message that shows the power of prayer and
God's protection for those who are attacked by the enemy. As you read this
message, remember that God will guide you and protect you all the days of
your life because of your trust in Him.
GOD'S PROVISION AND PROTECTION
A missionary was serving as a medic at a small field hospital in Africa.
Periodically he had to travel by bicycle through the jungle to a nearby
city for supplies. It was a two day trip so he had to camp out overnight.
He had made this trip several times without incident. One day however, he
arrived at his destination and saw two men fighting. One was seriously
hurt, so he treated him and witnessed to him and went about his business.
Upon arriving in the city several weeks later, he was approached by the man
he had treated earlier. "I know you carry money and medicine," said the
man to the missionary. "Some friends and I followed you into the jungle
the night you treated me, knowing you would camp overnight. We waited for
you to go to sleep and planned to kill you and take your money and drugs.
Just as we started moving into the campsite, we saw you were surrounded by
26 armed guards. There were only six of us and we knew then we couldn't
possibly get near you, so we left."
Hearing this the missionary laughed and said, "That's impossible. I can
assure you I was alone in the camp site."
The young man pressed his point: "No sir, I was not the only one to see the
guards. My friends also saw them, and we all counted them. We were
frightened. It was because of those guards that we left you alone."
Several months later, the missionary attended a church presentation in
Michigan where he told about his experiences in Africa, including this
incidence of God's protection. One of the congregants jumped to his feet,
interrupting the missionary, and said something that left everyone in the
church stunned.
"We were there with you in spirit," said the man. The missionary looked
perplexed. The man continued. "On that night in Africa, it was morning
here. I stopped at the church to gather some materials for an out-of-town
trip to another parish. But as I put my bags into the trunk, I felt the
Lord leading me to pray for you. The urging was so great I called the men
in the church together to pray for God's protection over you."
Then the man turned around and said, "Will all those men who met with me
in prayer that morning please stand?"
One by one they stood -- all 26 of them!

We should be confident in the fact that God will always protect us and keep
us from any harm. Many times in the Bible, God commands His people to be
strong and courageous and to fear not. We see God's protection throughout
His word and just as God protected the saints of old, we need to show
ourselves strong and know that He will do the same for all who put their
trust in Him. (2 Chronicles 32:7) (Deuteronomy 31:6) (Deuteronomy 20:3-4)
Whenever the enemy comes to you with problems that make you want to fear
and worry; I encourage you to call out to the God who saved Daniel from the
Lion's den and who delivered the Children of Israel from the hand of
Pharaoh. Be strong and of good cheer and never allow yourself to fear
anything and remember that God is faithful in watching over His children.
(Daniel 6:20-23) (Exodus 12:31-42)
Read and meditate on these scriptures:
2 Chronicles 20:15 "…Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor
dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours,
but God's."
Psalm 91:1-4 "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall
abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my
refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust. Surely He shall
deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou
trust: His truth shall be thy shield and buckler."
Joshua 1:9 "Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be
not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee
whithersoever thou goest."
Psalm 91:14-16 "Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I
deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known My name. He
shall call upon Me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and
shew him My salvation."
All scriptures can be found in the King James Version.
Psalm 118:6 declares "The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can
man do unto me?" Remember this verse of scripture the next time the enemy
comes to you with thoughts of fear and worry.
