1327th -- Solving Our Greatest Problems

No matter what is going wrong all around us, we should always remain steadfast to the righteous path that leads to life everlasting. So many people today have compromised their integrity and belief because of what the world calls “normal”. What we as Bible believing Christians must always adhere to is what God says is the right thing. No matter what man may try to persuade us to believe, our faith lies solely on what God’s Holy Word proclaims. It is out of this instruction manual given to us by God Almighty which we call the Holy Bible that we receive the instruction, edification, wisdom, knowledge and understanding that we need to live an overcoming, abundant and significant life for His glory. We must stand out as a Beacon of hope and light to those who are lost and wandering so that they may walk in righteousness as well. (John 5:24) (Romans 3:3-4)

No matter how discouraged you may sometimes feel and no matter how tempted you may be to conform, I encourage you to hold steadfastly to God’s eternal truths. Don’t compromise, don’t waver, but with renewed determination proclaim God’s goodness, God’s mercy, God’s grace and God’s forgiveness to all who repent and turn from their sins. That is the goodness of God that He can look past our past and see us for who we can become in Him. That is what our message is all about. It is the love of God that draws men to know Him as He is. We are to use our life to bring hope to the hopeless, redemption to the unredeemed and most importantly forgiveness to those who don’t believe they deserve it. (2 Corinthians 4:8-10) (Ezekiel 33:11) (1 Corinthians 1:17-31)

Never see yourself as the minority. With God by your side mountains will move. Believe in yourself as God believes in you and continue to walk in the light as He is in the light. Be that example of righteousness, lead others onto the righteous path and do your absolute best to leave every situation better than it was before you arrived. See that the brevity of this life with all of its trials, challenges and troubles is not comparable to the eternal joy and glory that is to come to all those who kept the faith and walked the narrow path that leads to life everlasting. (Matthew 7:13-14)

Every scar that this world gave us will be a defining mark of our faithfulness to the Lord when we finally see Him on that glorious day and we hear those words “Well done thou good and faithful servant.” May we each stay faithful to His call until our final breath. (Matthew 25:23)

I hope this message inspires and challenges your heart to do the things that set you apart from this world and do your best to make a difference each and every new day that you are blessed enough to see.

SOLVING OUR GREATEST PROBLEMS

We have great problems. Insurmountable problems! But we can solve even our most difficult problems if we work together.

Some of the greatest problems we face today are concerned with the gradual destruction of our environment through over-use and abuse of our resources. Unsightly brown clouds; wildlife extinctions; water that can't be consumed; the disappearance of ancient glaciers. These problems all seem so huge.

So my family does what we can. We take cloth bags to the grocery store instead of using paper or plastic grocery sacks. We buy organic foods when possible. We walk where we don't have to drive. Our home, like many of yours, is filled with compact fluorescent bulbs and we use water saving faucets.

But does it do any good? When I am the only one in line at the grocery store with cloth bags, am I doing any good? Does my walking to the store or shivering under the drizzle of my anemic shower head make any real difference to the world?

I recently learned something about flamingos - which probably behave like many migrating birds. These exquisite birds flock in huge groups of a thousand or more. Every year, when the time comes for migration, a few flamingos start the process by taking off from the lake. But none of the others seem to notice, so the tiny group returns.

However, the next day they try again. This time a few more struggle along with them, but the vast majority still pay no attention, so these pioneers come back.

The trend continues for several more days. Every time a few more birds join in, but, since the thousands of others still take no notice, the great migration plan is once more aborted.

Then one day something changes. The same small group of birds once again takes wing and a tiny number more join in, just as before. And this time their total number, though still quite small, is enough to tip the balance. As one, the whole flock takes flight and the migration begins. What a spectacular sight it must be - thousands of flamingos taking to the sky at once!

A few CAN make a difference. It's true that all of the great problems of the world have been solved because of the persistent efforts of a few.

Anthropologist Margaret Mead put it like this: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”

If you believe in a cause, don't give up! Others will someday take notice and together we will solve even our greatest problems.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Isaiah 26:3-4 “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee. Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is Everlasting Strength.”

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He that calleth you, who also will do it.”

Romans 15:1-4 “We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification. For even Christ pleased not Himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on Me. For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.”

2 Timothy 4:7-8 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
