We should never allow ourselves to get bogged down with the external pressures of life. So many times we allow what is going wrong all around us to infiltrate what is within us. The peace, joy and contentment that so many people have from within is often disturbed by the troubles, heartaches and trials that may be in their life presently. What we must do in these cases is guard or keep our hearts as the Bible says so that we won't allow any external discouragements to take away our sense of hope, peace and joy that is within our hearts. So how do we guard our hearts? We do so by continuously thinking and meditating on God's goodness. We strengthen our resolve by remembering the many times that we have come forth victorious when defeat seemed imminent. The miracles in our life are too many to count, but many times we forget them or count them as coincidence instead of recognizing what they truly were; a gift from God showing us His love and care exactly when we needed it the most. (Proverbs 4:23) (Psalm 103:1-5)
No matter what your trial or trouble may be, I want you to be reassured that what is within you can be kept and held securely within your being. You don't need to lose your peace. You don't have to give up your joy. If you simply focus on God’s eternal promises and think about His provision from times past, I believe you will come forth victorious and triumphant over every obstacle that may be trying to hinder your destiny. Always remember and keep in mind that greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. Jesus Christ conquered death, hell and the grave so that we may walk boldly to the Throne of Grace. There isn’t anything that we need to do to come to the Lord. Jesus did it all for us and now anyone who wishes is welcome to call upon the name of the Lord Jesus. He is enough to meet our every need. The Lord has our every necessity. We simply need to trust Him with all of our hearts and when we do we will see His miracle working power manifest itself in ways that we never thought or imagined would be possible. (Isaiah 26:3) (1 John 4:4)
I hope this message inspires and challenges your heart to stay in peace and rest within your heart no matter how hard the storms rage and no matter how tempted you may feel to give in or give up.
PACKING RIGHT
I helped my daughter move into her college dorm recently. She took a little teasing from her old Dad about all the boxes and suitcases she brought. I thought she had packed way too much stuff, but then I saw what the girl down the hall had brought. I guess my girl was traveling light, after all. I knew, though, that she had already packed every essential thing for this next great adventure in her life. It was just packed in her heart, soul, and mind.
It is what we pack on the inside not the outside that really determines how well we live. If we pack love in our hearts then our days become filled with happiness. If we pack wisdom in our minds then our lives become full of goodness. If we pack joy in our souls then we make the whole world better. The nice thing about this type of packing too is that there is always room for more. The more we love the larger our heart grows. The more we learn the greater our mind expands. The more joy we share the bigger our soul becomes.
You don’t need a U-Haul to carry around what is essential for a wonderful life. You don’t need any storage lockers to hold what brings you great joy. All you have to do is pack yourself full of the treasures of Heaven. Then you can travel light and share your wealth of love with everyone you meet. Then you can face everything that life throws at you and use it all to become better and to help others as well. Then you really can “take it with you” because what we learned and how we loved are the only things that will go with us into the greater life after this.
I hope that you pack well then for all the adventures to come in this life and in the next. I hope that you fill yourself full to overflowing with love, joy, wisdom, light, and oneness with God. Remember all the things you own in this life will one day turn to dust, but what you carry inside of yourself will live on forever.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:
Psalm 103:2-5 “Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.”
Hebrews 12:1-3 “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and
finisher of our faith; who for the Joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him that endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.”
Psalm 37:4-7 “Delight thyself also in the LORD; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass. And He shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him...”
2 Corinthians 4:17-18 “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”
All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
