There is nothing better than to be in God's perfect will because when
He speaks to your heart to do something, it will be received without
hesitation and without question. I never plan on writing a whole message,
but God is always teaching me something new and I thank Him for His
continued leading and blessings upon myself and this Ministry.
The Lord is all knowing and all-powerful and He loves to lead and guide us
when we depend on Him. Recently while I was helping my sister with her
computer, God taught me a lesson on seeking His wisdom when doing certain
things. I had no idea that by helping my sister with something I am good
at doing, will in turn teach me a lesson on depending on God's wisdom.
My Sister Dena who is 20 years old recently got a new laptop computer to
use for college and she wanted to download and install a few different
software programs from the Internet. She was using a 56K modem to do the
downloads and as you may know it is a very slow process when downloading a
huge file. She proceeded downloading the programs and immediately saw the
progress field which said it would take more than two hours to complete
the process.
I didn't want her to go through all that trouble because I knew that if
she would do it my way, she would finish a whole lot sooner than that. Not
too long ago I upgraded my system with a cable modem to connect to the
Internet, which is about 50 times faster than using a regular dial up
connection and knew I could do my sisters download in a matter of minutes
compared to the hours she had to wait.
I told her that I would be more than happy to set up her computer with my
cable modem and download all the software that she needed and it would be a
lot quicker than the way she was currently doing it. She wanted to accept
my offer, but worried that it might not work and all the time that she had
already spent would all go to waste. I told her to trust me and when she
gave me her computer, I was able to do the work that she needed done.
To make a longer story short, the two-hour wait was reduced to about five
minutes. She was delighted with the outcome even though she was very
hesitant at first when I told her to trust me and this is the point I
wanted to make about this message. I am only a few years older than my
sister and yet in some ways I am wiser than she is. Now imagine the wisdom
of God, which has no beginning and has no end. How much more quick should
we be in running to the Lord for direction, guidance and wisdom in times
of need. (Revelation 21:6-7) (Isaiah 55:6-7) (Jeremiah 33:2-3)
I believe God describes His wisdom best in Isaiah 55:8-9 "For My thoughts
are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the Lord. For
as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your
ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts." What a comfort it should be to
every believer, that when in times of indecision or confusion, we can go
to the One who has all wisdom and all understanding. (Psalm 23:1-6)
There is not an equation too complex or a problem to impossible for God to
solve and bring an answer to. God is so much bigger and wiser than we are
that He can bring answers in ways that we never imagined. Many times we
give up or lose hope because we think a certain problem or circumstance can
never be solved. I want you to be encouraged and know that in the same way
I was able to help my sister solve a two hour problem within five minutes;
God is able to solve your problem in a lot less time than that. (Luke 18:27)
I challenge you to encourage yourself in the Lord and let God know that you
acknowledge that His ways are bigger and better than your ways and that
you are seeking His wisdom for your current situation that has you worried.
Never be ashamed to let God know that you don't have all of the answers.
This is humility before the eyes of the Lord and God honors humility and
answers the hearts cry of those who humble themselves before the Lord.
Read and meditate on these scriptures:
Proverbs 3:5-8 "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto
thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall
direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart
from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones."
1 Peter 5:5-7 "Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea,
all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God
resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves
therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time:
Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you."
Psalm 139:1-6 "O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest
my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my
ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest
it altogether. Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand
upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot
attain unto it."
Psalm 145:1-4 "I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy
name for ever and ever. Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise
thy name for ever and ever. Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised;
and His greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall praise thy works
to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts."
