Recently while I was meditating on a verse of scripture, the Lord
spoke
to my heart concerning the power of prayer. I hope you will be
blessed
and encouraged by this message the Lord led me to write. As
always, to
God be all the glory, honor, and praise for His leading and
blessings
upon this work that He has called us to.
In Matthew 5:14-16 Jesus says, "You
are the light of the world. A city that
is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and
put it
under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who
are in
the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see
your good
works and glorify your Father in heaven."
In order for our light to shine
before all men, we need to be connected to the Source of the
light, so that
we may partake of what God already is.
While I was meditating on this verse of scripture the Lord gave me
a
revelation concerning His wisdom and understanding and what we
need to do
to receive that wisdom and anointing of the Holy Spirit. I was
sitting in
my bedroom when the light stand next to my bed got my attention.
The Lord
spoke to my heart concerning the light stand and what it needs to
bring
forth light.
As you already know a lampstand has only one purpose and that is
to give
light to a room or area that is in need of light. If you were to
unplug
the light stand and turn the knob for the light to come on, the
light will
not come on because there is no power flowing to the lamp. In
order for
it to give light again, it needs to be plugged into the power
source. Once
it is plugged back into the power source, the lamp will again give
light
when you turn it on. It does not matter how beautiful the lamp is
or how
many rooms it is able to light; if it does not have a power
source, the
lamp is useless.
It is the same thing concerning every believer. Even though we
have been
saved and redeemed by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ; if we
are not
plugged into His power source then we are not going to be
effective towards
doing the work that God has called us to do. Only through prayer,
fasting,
and reading God's Word can we gain the strength, power and
boldness to
proclaim the truth of the Lord to all nations. (Matthew 24:14)
Many people think they are not qualified to do God's work and
hence do not
seek for God's anointing on their life and that is exactly what
the enemy
wants. The devil never wants us to recognize the power that we
have in
prayer and tries everything he knows to keep us from praying.
Another lie
of the enemy is to fool you into thinking that God favors one
person over
another, but I want you to know that God is no respecter of
persons and
will light up all who will plug into Him as their power source and
God
promises to do great things through that life. (Jeremiah 1:4-5)
(Acts 10:34)
Many times we try to reach a certain goal and fail and because we
have
failed, we are hard on ourselves for not being successful and that
should
not be. We need to remember that if we depend on ourselves we will
always
fall short, because it is not in our own strength that we are
successful
but rather in the strength of the Lord. Keep in mind what Jesus
said in
John 15:5, "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in
Me, and
I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing."
Always keep in mind that spending time alone with the Lord will
bring
forth great success in every area of your life. God is a
one-on-one God.
He knows you better than you know yourself and once you realize
that God
only wants the best for you; you will always be quick to plug into
His
power source and receive the light that He gives that will cause
your life
to shine greatly before all men. (Psalm 139:17-18) (Matthew 6:6)
Just as the Lord did for the saints of old, He will do the same
for you.
God will anoint you, empower you and fill you with wisdom beyond
your
years that you may know His power and glorify His name for He is a
big God
and deserves to be praised. (Jeremiah 33:3) (Psalm 91:14-16)
Read and meditate on these scriptures:
Matthew 6:5-6 Jesus says,
"And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the
hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues
and in
the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I
say
unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest,
enter into
thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father
which is
in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee
openly."
Matthew 5:14-16 Jesus says,
"Ye are the
light of the world. A city that is
set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and
put it
under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all
that
are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they
may see
your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."
Psalm 27:1-4 "The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I
fear?
the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
When the
wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my
flesh,
they stumbled and fell. Though an host should encamp against me,
my heart
shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I
be
confident. One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek
after;
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,
to
behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in His temple."
Ephesians 6:10-12 "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord,
and in the
power of His might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be
able to
stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against
flesh and
blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the
rulers of
the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high
places."
All scriptures can be found in the King James Version.
