1363rd -- Time To Live

We should always be conscious to the brevity of time that we have on this Earth. So many times we go through our days bored, uninspired, lackadaisical wishing for tomorrow while wasting away today. What we must remember and keep in mind is that tomorrow is promised to no man. We have today to make use of, to bless others, to pursue a goal or dream, to become better, wiser, stronger, to forgive an offense and seek forgiveness from an offense, to love another unconditionally and to be the best that we can be so that when tomorrow comes we can pursue it with that same fervor, tenacity and focus that we did the day before. Living life in this manner will leave us with a past that will be filled with memories of accomplishment and fulfillment rather than the opposite which none of us wish to call our own. (James 4:13-15) (1 Corinthians 10:31-33)

Living a fulfilled life is possible for anyone. We just have to have our priorities straightened and keeping God at the top of our list is priority one. When we look to God as our provider and sustainer we will not feel overwhelmed by the trials and challenges that come our way. Instead we will have a quiet confidence that all will be well with us because God’s love towards us is beyond our comprehension. We will look forward towards our days with a renewed vigor knowing that God has given us this day to bless us, to encourage us, to strengthen us and to make us better than we were in our many failed yesterdays. (Psalm 84:11-12) (Isaiah 40:28-31)

When we make up our minds to make our life useful, nothing shall be impossible to us. The only thing that stops us is our lack of will to move forward. If we choose to stay stagnant than we only have ourselves to blame. Let us never give up and never give in. Let us rise up again, let us believe that we can become better than we were before and let us stand in our authority as believers in Jesus Christ and fulfill our life’s destiny that God wishes for each of us to stand in. Don’t go to your grave with your dreams still inside of you. Give your all until you stand atop the mountain and remember God’s goodness that overwhelmed your life and showed you how special you are to Him. (Matthew 17:20) (Jeremiah 31:3)

I hope this message inspires and challenges your heart to live each new day with focus and renewed purpose determined to fulfill every dream that is within your heart.

TIME TO LIVE

The longer I live the more I realize just how precious a thing time is. Time is our most valuable resource. It is the one thing that we would all like to have more of. The sad truth, though, is that most of us waste far too much of our time here just existing and spend far too little of our time here really living.

I decided recently that I wanted to spend as much time as I possibly could in my own life truly living. I didn't want to just exist. I didn't want to spend hours each day running from job to job, chore to chore, errand to errand, and activity to activity. I wanted to spend my days, hours, and moments loving, learning, and growing. I wanted to spend my time helping, caring, and sharing. I wanted to have the time of my life living the way God meant for me to.

Nowadays you won't find me on the road quite so often then. I try to combine my errands and limit my trips as much as possible. It gives me more time to read a good book with a cat sleeping on my lap and a dog curled up at my feet. Nowadays you won't find me watching so much television either. I find that time better spent going for walks, hugging my sons, talking with my daughter, and writing words like the ones you are reading here. Nowadays you won't find me restlessly looking for more work to do as well. I find that time better spent thinking of God, watching the sunset, singing a song, and laughing with my family and friends. The funny thing too is that now that I am giving myself time to live I find myself doing better and accomplishing more than I ever did before. Most of all, though, my time is now spent joyously and my days on Earth feel closer to Heaven.

Abraham Lincoln said, “It's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.” May all of us then have the time of our lives truly living the days and years God gives us here.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Psalm 121:5-8 “The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: He shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.”

Isaiah 40:28-31 “Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of His understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might He increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Psalm 84:11-12 “For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in Thee.”

1 Chronicles 16:8-12 “Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon His name, make known His deeds among the people. Sing unto Him, sing psalms unto Him, talk ye of all His wondrous works. Glory ye in His Holy Name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD. Seek the LORD and His strength, seek His face continually. Remember His marvellous works that He hath done, His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth;”

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
