1430th -- Message On Spending Time Right

The thing about time is that it never stops running. It doesn’t pause, it doesn’t take a break, it cannot be stopped. Time is always running away from us and if we think back over our life we can remember a lifetime in only a few moments. That is why we should think about how we are spending our time. We should stop with our busyness and really focus on how our days are being spent. Are we doing meaningful things? Are we creating memories that will last our lifetime and the lifetime of those whom we love the most? Are we wasting our time with things that have little or no meaning? Are we focusing on and worrying about things that will have no relevance to our life a few weeks or a few months from now? We need to be introspective in this manner and focus on what we are focusing on so that we may redeem the precious time that God has entrusted us with. I can think back over the past 20 years of my life and even though each day seems like an eternity, these past 20 years being paralyzed flew by in a second. If my life as difficult as it is has had its time pass by so quickly, I can imagine how quickly time has gone by for my family and friends who haven’t had as challenging a life as I have had. (Ephesians 5:15-17) (Psalm 90:12)

My best advice to anyone is to make your life meaningful. Do things that will enrich your life, that will elevate your life, that will bring joy and gladness into your life so that your few days on this earth will be spent blessed and lifted up. It really is within our ability on how we see our life. We may not be able to control the circumstances that happen to us, but our reaction to those situations are completely within our control. We can choose joy over sorrow, gladness over misery, peace over worry and trust that God is in control of all things and because we have faith in Him our life is forever secured no matter how strong the storms may rage and no matter how bleak our future may seem. That has been my philosophy ever since I have been Born Again. I have completely and wholeheartedly trusted my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to be with me, to strengthen, to encourage and inspire me to be the best that I can possibly be. (Psalm 39:4-5) (James 4:13-17)

I have surrendered my will and allowed His will to be done and all I can say is that I am thankful. I am thankful that God has entrusted me with these gifts, talents and abilities so that this simple life may be used in extraordinary ways. Only God knows of the lives that have been touched by these words that God has given me to write. I will never fully know of my life’s impact and I don’t really care to know. That’s God’s business. I let God take care of the encouraging, the inspiring, the motivating of others through this vessel’s penmanship because I know that I have none of those abilities in my own strength. It is the Lord who deserves all the credit for every gift and blessing that comes forth from our life’s work. The sooner we recognize this truth the sooner the Lord will be glorified, lifted up and pleased to see our recognition that within our ability we can do nothing, but through Christ within us nothing shall be impossible. (Proverbs 16:9) (John 3:21)

I pray that you take this message and my life’s message to heart. It is better to prefer others over ourselves. It is better to serve than to be served. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to love your neighbor and prefer them even over yourself. The Lord Jesus was the living embodiment of service to others and as His disciples and followers we must emulate that kind of example to everyone with whom we are lucky enough to cross paths with. Time is not on our side. Before we know it this whole life will have passed us by and we will wonder where the time went. I know many people much older than I have said that exact same thing to me more than once so I will believe their words and make an extra effort to not waste my time. I pray that you think about your time, how you are spending it and what you can do to better use your time so that when you enter into your eternity you will have used every bit of it to bring blessings, joy and gladness into your life and into the lives of those around you. (Proverbs 10:7) (Romans 12:10)

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

James 4:13-15 “Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.”

Matthew 6:19-21 Jesus says,
“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

2 Timothy 4:7-8 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
