1433rd -- Eyes In A Crowd

The good that we do, the blessings that we share, the encouragement that we impart as small as it may seem in our own eyes makes a huge difference to those fortunate enough to be the recipients. So many times in life people don’t grasp at the opportunities that come their way to be a blessing to someone else and instead of elevating that life to greater heights they sadly leave it as it is because they did not want to spend the time to be the blessing that they could have been. That is such a sad loss for both parties because when we take the opportunity to be a blessing to someone else both of our lives become better. The recipient because of what they received from us and we become blessed because we allowed our life to be used as a vessel in which God was able to work through for that precious moment. We read in Galatians 6:7-10 “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.” (Luke 6:31-36) (Matthew 5:14-16)

What we should always remember and keep in mind is that this life will pass us by all too quickly and before we know it we will be giving an account of our entire life to God Almighty. The good we did, the blessings we bestowed, the opportunities that we took a hold of will testify on our behalf because we took the time to care for our brother or sister who was in need. We will also answer as to why we didn’t do good when we could have, and won’t it be a shameful moment on our record that we could have made a difference, but we chose not to? That should never be us. We shouldn’t be so self involved or self minded that we ignore the good that we are able to impart into the life of someone else. May we all wake up to this realization that our life is not our own. We are meant to do good, to be good and to be a blessing at every opportunity that comes our way. When we act lovingly as Christ did to those who humbled themselves before Him we will emulate His example and our simple life will be used in the most extraordinary of ways. (Revelation 20:12-14) (James 4:13-14)

I pray that you think about your Judgment Day so that you may be purposeful with your blessings. Let us never allow the busyness of life to make us ignore the needs of someone who crosses our path. May we treat others as we wish to be treated and do for others as we would hope would be done for us in our time of need. May we always be purposeful with our blessings so that the lives of others will continually be elevated to greater heights and our life be elevated just the same for being fortunate enough to be used for God’s eternal purposes. (Isaiah 6:8)

I hope this message inspires and encourages your heart to see that the greatest of blessings can be imparted in the simplest of ways.

EYES IN A CROWD

I never liked crowds much. As a boy I grew up in the country with only a few neighbors. Trips to the city were few and far between. I never had a chance to get used to crowds then. When I did encounter them I found them noisy, uncomfortable, and even a bit scary. They seemed full of strangers and even in the midst of them I felt lonely.

All of this would change, however, thanks to a single pair of loving eyes. It happened one day when I was shopping in a mall. The crowds to my dismay were as thick as I had ever seen them. In this sea of people I noticed a little girl holding her Mom’s hand coming out of a store. As I looked down at her I could see in her face all of the fear and loneliness that I had in crowds only worse. In that noisy crush of strangers I saw her looking from face to face for comfort. It was then that her eyes met mine. In that moment we both smiled and I felt our souls touch. The fear and loneliness left her eyes and I saw love and joy replace them. Her angelic smile warmed my own heart as well and in that second I could feel a blanket of God’s love around us both. We shared a lifetime’s friendship in that instant before waving goodbye to each other.

As I walked back to my car too I noticed a change. All of those noisy and busy strangers had suddenly turned into beautiful Children of God. People’s eyes sparkled, and their laughter became music. I smiled joyously at it all and wondered what I had been afraid of all those years. I knew, though, that thanks to that little angel I would never feel lonely in crowds again.

I wish that lovely, little girl who helped me a lifetime of joy without fear and love without loneliness. I know too that I won’t be the last person whose eyes she will meet and soul she will touch. She showed me again that we are all God’s Children here. She helped me to see too that no matter how crowded our lives get we can still look each other in the eyes and share a smile.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.”

Matthew 12:35-37 Jesus declares
“A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.”

Romans 12:14-17 “Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.”

Hebrews 13:1-3 “Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.”

Philippians 4:8-9 “Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.”

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
