The great thing about life and being alive is that we always have another chance. Another chance means that we can rise up after we have fallen, try again after we have failed and love again after we have been heartbroken. Our chances to try again are only limited by our own imagination. God in His infinite mercy and grace has gifted us with another chance because He knows of our many faults, flaws and failures. When we come before the Lord in humility asking for forgiveness and seeking His wisdom, leading and direction, the Bible says God will hear and answer our hearts cry. We read in Jeremiah 29:11-13 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon Me, and ye shall go and pray unto Me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek Me, and find Me, when ye shall search for Me with all your heart.” We must remember that God is no respecter of persons. All who call upon His name will be heard. The Lord has no favorites when it comes to hearing His children’s heartfelt prayers. (Colossians 3:23-25) (Psalm 138:6-8)
Seeing that God has such great love for mankind we must also as His children do our absolute best to care for our fellow man just as God cares for us. The Bible says we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works. That means all those who are in Christ have a mandate to emulate the life of Christ. The Lord Jesus as our example loved all, healed all, welcomed all and showed all those who are of a broken heart love, mercy and compassion. The Creator loves His creation and as children of the Most High God we must do our best to be a shining Beacon of Hope that all are drawn to. The Bible declares in Galatians 6:10 “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.” God brings the opportunities our way to be a blessing, but it is up to us to act and be that blessing. (Ephesians 2:10) (1 John 3:16-18)
There have been many moments in my life when I felt a nudging to speak to someone about the Lord; to show His goodness, to make known His love and to simply be a living witness and share how God can change a life from ordinary to extraordinary. I pray that we always answer the call to be a living testimony of God’s love, mercy and grace. May we do unto others as we would have them do unto us and may God always lead us and guide us onto the best path for our betterment and the betterment of those around us. (Luke 6:31)
I hope this message inspires and challenges your heart to always keep love and compassion at the forefront of your life so that you may see the needs of others and try your best to make a bad situation a little bit better.
A CHOICE
It was a beautiful, sunny, Spring day. I had just finished driving my daughter to the airport to catch an early morning flight. My sons and I then went to a fast food place for breakfast before heading back home. After eating we all got into the car and pulled out of the parking lot. The restaurant was at the very top of a hill. At the bottom of the hill was a stop sign so we found ourselves at the end of a long line of traffic waiting while the cars at the bottom turned onto the main road one at a time.
As I looked down to the bottom of the hill my eyes saw an elderly man standing by the stop sign. His clothes were old and worn. He held a cardboard sign with the words: “Need Help Please!” written on it. My heart went out to him and I imagined myself in his situation. As car after car turned onto the road without stopping for him, I reached for my wallet to look for whatever cash was left in it. As I was pulling it out of my pocket, though, I saw a young woman walk up to him along the side of the road. She was carrying a bag full of takeout food from the restaurant I was just at. I watched as the old man thanked the young girl and smiled as she reached in to give him a hug.
Suddenly a loud “HONK” from the car behind me made me realize that I hadn’t been moving forward, because this simple choice for kindness had so captured my attention and my heart. By the time I reached the bottom of the hill both the man and lady who had helped him were gone. Yet, as I drove home the sun seemed to shine even brighter and Heaven felt a bit closer to Earth.
A choice is such a powerful thing. It can touch a heart and change a life. It can bring us closer to God and make Heaven smile. Each day we are given a thousand choices. May you make all of yours for kindness. May you make your whole life a choice for love, joy, and God.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:
Romans 12:18-21 “If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.”
Ephesians 4:31-32 “Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.”
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 “Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth...”
Romans 12:14-17 “Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.”
Colossians 3:16-17 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.”
