We should never allow the pressures of life to beat us down into submission making us believe the lie that our life is insignificant and unable to make a positive change. I believe as long as God has given us breath, then our story isn’t finished yet. We each have a chance to be better, to do better, to reach farther and to believe in ourselves again as God believes in us. We should bring into remembrance the times that we overcame something that seemed impossible and receive encouragement from that past experience letting it remind us that we can overcome the impossible again now and in our future to come. The Bible declares in Philippians 1:6 “Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” As long as God is sitting on His Throne then we should be at peace. We who call God our Lord, Redeemer and Savior should live our life in confidence knowing that God has not, will not and cannot fail us because we are precious to Him. (Proverbs 3:5-6) (Psalm 2:4-9)
Imagine what you would do for your child; the lengths that you would go through to guide them, protect them and show them how much you love and care for them. Now think how much more God cares for us than our earthly parents! Be encouraged to believe that you are very special. You may not see it right now, you may not believe this truth, but God has instilled within you gifts, talents and abilities that no one else possesses. You have been entrusted with greatness, but you must believe, you must cultivate and you must hone your giftings so that they can be utilized to their fullest potential. When we take the time to seek God in prayer and allow His perfect peace to envelop our hearts, we will face every trial, every challenge and every obstacle with confidence because we will already have the foreknowledge that victory is ours. May we always be a trusting people, a faith filled people and a people who are ready, willing and able to fulfill their life’s purpose and become all who God has created us to be. (Jeremiah 29:11-14) (Jeremiah 33:3)
I hope this message inspires and encourages your heart to see that it’s okay to seek guidance so that you may be encouraged and inspired to go out into the world refreshed and determined to fulfill every dream and desire that is within your heart.
HUG ME!
It was there waiting for me. I knew the moment I walked up to it, that I had to connect.
“Hug me!” the small sign read on the teddy bear, so I did.
Music played. A wonderful melody unlike any other I've ever heard before.
“I didn't think that worked anymore,” someone said.
She startled me.
“I didn't think anyone was around,” I said smiling. I felt foolish standing there hugging a bear.
“That's been sitting there for years. I don't know why we don't throw it out,” she said.
“I'm guessing that's because there's still music left inside. What a waste that would be. To throw something away that still had music left inside.”
I knew the moment I said that, there was a point to be made here.
The year is coming to a close and I was searching for a message to share with you.
How'd you do? I mean, really, how did you do?
Isn't it that time to reflect back over the past year and think about all the good, bad and indifferent?
In the wee small hours of the evening on that last day of the year, we begin to think about all we accomplished or all we didn't accomplish.
We listen to the sirens, horns, and noisemakers of the people around the world celebrating the coming of the New Year. We've come far enough in life to wonder what it will bring this time.
Permit me to remind you that one year ago, I was sitting in my living room scared out of my mind.
Marianne had just found out she had breast cancer and the new year was frightening.
Now look how far we've come. The year I feared turned out to be a year of hope, faith and love.
Hope for the future, strengthened by faith and encouraged by the love of thousands of friends I've never met. You.
I can also remember all too many new years when I saw nothing but emptiness ahead. I was hopeless and lost.
I thought there was no music left in me.
But God knew better. He always sent someone into my life who sensed that need to connect. Pausing for a moment on their own journey, their kind words, loving concern and gentle touch brought me to life.
They brought out the music in my soul.
It was as though I had a sign on me that said... “Hug me.”
I am a hugger, you know.
I believe that there is music left inside of you that needs to play again.
There is a song, your song, unlike any other. It was written just for you. It cannot be played by anyone else, at any other time in the history of the world.
You are sitting there tonight waiting for someone to remind you.
Here I am. God sent me with these words.
Your music. The world needs your music.
I see a sign in front of you that says, “Hug me!”
Consider yourself hugged! Now listen to the music.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:
Romans 8:31-34 “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.”
Isaiah 26:3-4 “Thou wilt keep him in perfect; peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee. Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.”
Romans 8:16-18 “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”
Romans 5:8-10 “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.”
1 Peter 2:9-10 “...ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the Praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.”
