155th -- Message On How We Spend Our Life

I hope you are doing well and greatly benefiting from the goodness of our
Lord. Recently while I was meditating on a verse of scripture, the Lord
spoke to my heart about the number of years that we live on this earth
that seem like such a long time, yet they are not really long at all when
compared to eternity. I hope this message will minister and speak to your
heart concerning how we are living our life and what we are doing to not
waste the precious time that God has given us.

The Lord has been speaking to my heart on how we are spending the time
that He has given us on the earth. Lately when I have seen the dash (-)
between the years of someone's birth and death, the Holy Spirit has been
speaking to my heart concerning how short life is no matter how many years
the person lived on the earth. I don't want to get too technical on this,
but if you think about it I believe you will understand what I am saying.
The size of the dash is the same regardless if the person who died was 100
years old or 10 years old. When the dash is placed between the birth and
death years, it is the same size regardless of the person's age.

I believe the Holy Spirit revealed this simple truth to me because He knows
the dash that symbolizes our life is really insignificant when compared
to eternity. So often we waste the time that we have on this earth with
things that really do not matter. There are so many distractions these
days that steal our time. Precious time that we could be spending in
prayer, studying God's Word so that we grow in Him and be sensitive to
that still small voice of His leading.

We need to keep things in perspective and that's why I believe this
message is really needed to be heard more these days. Where will all of
our possessions be a hundred years from now? All the time that we waste in
acquiring worldly goods will not have any meaning or purpose when we are
in eternity. I believe the Lord is stirring up many hearts to think more
about the little time that we have on this earth and what we should be
doing to make every day count for God and His purposes. (Revelation 8:6-9)

The Bible declares in James 4:14 "...For what is your life? It is even a
vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away." It does not
matter if you live to be 50, 80, or 120 years old. It will all pass by
too quickly and in the end, we will say, "Where did the years go, it seems
like only yesterday I was a kid." The Bible says that our life is just
like a vapor that appears for a short time and then vanishes away.

The point I wanted to make through this message is this; let us not go
into eternity having regrets about the time that we spent on the earth.
Let the dash that symbolizes your life be filled with the destined
accomplishments that God has placed in your heart to fulfill. It does not
matter how long you live, as long as you finish the course that God had
planned for you. Even though every dash (-) is the same size regardless of
our birth and death, let us stay determined and focused to fulfill our
destiny and accomplish every goal that God has placed in each of our hearts.

I pray that this message has struck a chord in your heart to be more
sensitive concerning your dash (-) and how it will represent the life that
you lived on this earth. I encourage you to seek the Lord in prayer and
let Him be your guide from this time forth to lead each and every one of
your days that they may be filled pursuing God's purpose and fulfilling
every area that God has planned for you. (Jeremiah 29:11-13) (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

2 Corinthians 4:17-18 "For our light affliction, which is but for a
moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of
glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the
things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary,
but the things which are not seen are eternal."

Matthew 6:19-21 Jesus says, "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on
earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and
steal; "but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth
nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. "For where
your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

Jeremiah 33:2-3 "Thus says the LORD who made it, the LORD who formed it to
establish it (the LORD is His name): Call to Me, and I will answer you,
and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know."

2 Timothy 4:7-8 "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I
have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of
righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on
that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing."

All scriptures can be found in the New King James Version.

I thank the Lord for His continued leading and do give Him all the Glory
and Honor for the blessings that He bestows through this work.
