What a great comfort it is for every believer to have Jesus Christ as the
centerpiece of their life. The Lord promises to protect, strengthen and
deliver them from every problem that may come their way.
As long as we keep our eyes on the Lord, He is faithful to keep us in
perfect peace as we read in Isaiah 26:3, "Thou wilt keep him in perfect
peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee."
If you are having trouble continuing in peace, then I hope this message
will encourage your heart to continue to trust the Lord no matter what is
going on all around you.
THE REAL MEANING OF PEACE
There once was a king who offered a prize to the artist who would paint
the best picture of Peace. Many artists tried. The king looked at all the
pictures. But there were only two he really liked, and he had to choose
between them.
One picture was of a calm lake. The lake was a perfect mirror for peaceful
towering mountains all around it. Overhead was a blue sky with fluffy
white clouds. All who saw this picture thought that it was a perfect
picture of peace.
The other picture had mountains, too. But these were rugged and bare. Above
was an angry sky, from which rain fell and in which lightning played. Down
the side of the mountain tumbled a foaming waterfall. This did not look
peaceful at all.
But when the king looked closely, he saw behind the waterfall a tiny bush
growing in a crack in the rock. In the bush a mother bird had built her
nest. There, in the midst of the rush of angry water, sat the mother bird
on her nest in perfect peace.
Which picture do you think won the prize? The king chose the second
picture. Do you know why?
"Because," explained the king, "Peace does not mean to be in a place where
there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. Peace means to be in the midst
of all those things and still be calm in your heart. That is the real
meaning of peace."

There are many people in this world that cannot understand how a believer
in Jesus Christ can be calm and collected even in the midst of a storm.
The obvious thing to do is to worry, fear and contemplate what the future
holds, but for the believer it is very different because they know Jesus
is in control of this world and all that is within it. (Luke 12:22-32)
We do not always understand why certain things happen the way they do, but
we must trust the Lord and know that His ways are much higher and wiser
than ours can ever be. I encourage you to trust the Lord in every area of
your life and know that in Him there is perfect peace that surpasses all
understanding. He is the answer to every problem and in Him there is a
love and peace that is unexplainable. (Isaiah 55:8-9) (Philippians 4:6-7)
If you are having trouble in your life and don't feel the peace of God in
your heart, then I encourage you to call upon Him today and rededicate your
life to the Lord Jesus Christ. He loves you more than you will ever know
and wishes to take every burden and heartache off of your life and give you
the peace that Jesus Christ freely offers to all who call upon His name.
(Isaiah 1:18-20) (Matthew 23:37-39) (Matthew 11:28-30) (Romans 10:12-13)
Read and meditate on these scriptures:
Psalm 91:1-4 "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall
abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my
refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust. Surely He shall
deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou
trust: His truth shall be thy shield and buckler."
Proverbs 3:5-8 "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto
thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall
direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart
from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones."
John 14:27 Jesus says, "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you:
not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled,
neither let it be afraid."
Psalm 91:10-16 "There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague
come nigh thy dwelling. For He shall give his angels charge over thee, to
keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest
thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and
adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because
he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him
on high, because he hath known My name. He shall call upon me, and I will
answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour
him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation."
