Many times we try to do things our way and do not seek God's will for a
particular situation. The benefit of first seeking the Lord is that He
promises to direct your life in the best possible direction as we read in
Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on
your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall
direct your paths.” God is the one who has all wisdom and is able to see
the end result even before we take our first step. I hope you will seek
the Lord's will in your life if there is a situation that has you feeling
uncertain. God has all the answers and He is your best choice for seeking
direction throughout your life. (Isaiah 46:10) (Jeremiah 33:3)
I received this story on God's wisdom and thought you would be encouraged
by this simple message. If has encouraged me to continue trusting the
Lord and reminded me that God is all knowing and has planned my life even
before the foundations of the world. I hope this story will minister to
your heart if you are having trouble with your life and are not sure how
things will turn out. Remember with God as your leader, things will always
turn out just right. (Ephesians 1:3-6) (2 Corinthians 1:20)
BOYHOOD DREAMS
A boy once said to God, “I know what I want when I grow up.” He proceeded
to give God his list: to live in a big house with two Saint Bernard's; to
marry a tall, blue-eyed woman; to have three sons-one who will be a
senator, one a scientist, and the other a quarterback. He also wanted to
be a mountain climber and drive a red Ferrari.
As it turned out, the boy hurt his knee one-day while playing football. He
could no longer climb trees, much less mountains. He married a beautiful
and kind woman who was short with brown eyes. Because of his business, he
lived in an apartment in the city and usually rode the subway. He had
three loving daughters, and they adopted a fluffy cat.
One daughter became a nurse, one an artist and the third a music teacher.
One morning the man awoke and remembered his boyhood dream. He became
extremely depressed.
Heartbroken, he called out to God, “Remember when I was a boy and told You
all the things I wanted? Why didn't You give me those things?”
“I could have,” said God, “but I wanted to make you happy.”

God declares in His Word that His thoughts for your life are for peace and
not evil, and to give you a future and a hope. We need to trust in God's
wisdom and know that His ways are much higher and better than ours can ever
be. When things don't turn out the way that we had hoped, we can get down
and discouraged and blame God for the things that we wish we had; or we
can look to God and say, “I trust you Lord and know that you have my best
interest in mind.” (Jeremiah 29:11) (Isaiah 55:8-9) (1 Timothy 6:6-12)
It is all in how we look at things and if we think back years ago, I know
each of us have made certain requests to the Lord and now thinking back in
retrospect, we are grateful to Him that He did not answer that particular
prayer. God's wisdom and understanding has no beginning nor ending. He
knows what is exactly right for each of us, and when we stop trying to do
it our way and let God be God and allow Him to do things in His perfect
order, then we will grow in trust and faith just as God wishes for each of
our lives. (Revelation 1:8) (Psalm 139:2-6) (Psalm 115:10-15)
Read and meditate on these scriptures:
Jeremiah 29:11-14 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith
the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will
hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search
for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, saith the LORD…”
Jeremiah 1:4-5 “Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Before I
formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of
the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”
Joshua 1:8-9 “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but
thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do
according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way
prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Have not I commanded
thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou
dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
Psalm 139:14-19 “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully
made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My
substance was not hid from Thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously
wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance,
yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in
continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. How
precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of
them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when
I awake, I am still with thee.”
