The wisdom of the Lord is something that is incomprehensible with our
finite mind. There are many people in this world that think they know it
all and have tried to disprove the Word of God as being a bunch of fairy
tales and made up stories. People who have "minds of science" are
constantly trying to prove their own man made theories of evolution and
the big bang theory. The simple truth is that God created the universe
and all that is within it. God was, is and will always be. He is
everything we need and in Him are all the answers our heart searches for.
(Psalm 139:1-16) (Psalm 14:1-6) (Genesis 1:1) (Hebrews 13:8)
I received this story from one of our members and after first reading it,
I thought it was humorous. After reading it a second time, I saw the
potential of using it as the focal point in our message to show how great
God's wisdom and understanding is even when the naysayers try to disprove
the Word of our wonderful Lord. I hope you will be encouraged to keep
your faith strong in the Lord and also remind you that He is the answer to
every problem and will be there to help and guide you in every area of
your life. To God belongs all the Glory for the great things He has done.
TEN INCHES OF WATER
A boy was sitting in a park bench with one hand resting on an open Bible.
He was loudly exclaiming his praise to God. “Hallelujah! Hallelujah! God
is great!” he yelled without worrying whether anyone heard him or not.
Shortly after, along came a man who had recently completed some studies at
a local University. Feeling himself very enlightened in the ways of truth
and very eager to show this enlightenment, he asked the boy about the
source of his Joy.
“Hey” asked the boy in return with a bright laugh, “Don't you have any
idea what God is able to do? I just read that God opened up the waves of
the Red Sea and led the whole nation of Israel right through the middle.”
The enlightened man laughed lightly, sat down next to the boy and began to
try to open his eyes to the “realities” of the miracles of the Bible.
“That can all be very easily explained. Modern scholarship has shown that
the Red Sea in that area was only 10 inches deep at that time. It was no
problem for the Israelites to wade across.”
The boy was stumped. His eyes wandered from the man back to the Bible lying
open in his lap. The man, content that he had enlightened a poor naive
young person to the finer points of scientific insight turned to leave.
Scarcely had he taken two steps when the boy began to rejoice and praise
louder than before. The man turned to ask the reason for this resumed
jubilation.
“Wow!” Exclaimed the boy happily, “God is greater than I thought! Not only
did He lead the whole nation of Israel through the Red Sea, He topped it
off by drowning the whole Egyptian army in 10 inches of water!”

The Bible declares that God is not a man that He should lie. If it is
written in the Bible then we know by the authority of God's word that it
has happened or will happen. Every Prophecy that was given in the Old
Testament concerning the Lord Jesus Christ came to pass as we read
throughout the New Testament Gospels. He was born of a virgin, lived a
sinless life, and took upon Himself the sins of all mankind and was
crucified in our stead. The good news is that He rose on the third day
and is alive evermore. The good news is not only because we have eternal
life through Christ, but we are also now heirs with Christ and receive the
abundant blessings that God has promised to each believer.
(Numbers 23:19) (Matthew 1:20-23) (Matthew 8:16-17) (Romans 8:16-17)
If you are feeling discouraged because of the trials of life, I encourage
you to remember God's promises and rejoice in the fact that you will make
it through your trial totally unharmed and stronger than you were before.
The Bible declares in Psalm 34:1, “I will bless the Lord at all times; His
praise shall continually be in my mouth.” The enemy of hell will be
completely dumbfounded by your praise and worship of the Most High God even
while you are in the midst of your troubles. (Proverbs 3:5-6) (2 Cor. 1:20)
I encourage you to completely and wholeheartedly keep your trust in the
Lord. If everyone else around you is mocking your faith and worship, don't
get discouraged, but rather rejoice and know that God is well pleased in
your faithfulness even in the midst of the storm. No trial lasts forever
and with God by your side you will always come forth victorious and
abundantly blessed. (Isaiah 1:19) (Romans 8:18-19) (2 Corinthians 2:14)
Read and meditate on these scriptures:
John 1:1-4 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and
the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were
made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made. In Him
was life; and the life was the light of men.”
Hebrews 11:1-3 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the
evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report.
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God,
so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”
Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he
that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of
them that diligently seek Him.”
Matthew 5:8-12 Jesus says, “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall
see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the
children of God. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’
sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall
revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you
falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your
reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.”
