There are many people in this world that try to complicate Salvation. What
God in His infinite wisdom planned to be simple; man complicates with
religious traditions. Jesus Christ suffered for you and me once and for
all and now all who call upon the name of the Lord Jesus shall be saved. I
believe the Lord laid this message upon my heart because He does not ever
want confusion when it comes to His Son Jesus, but rather clarity that
only Jesus and the blood that He shed upon the Cross can save you and me.
Religions cannot save you and traditions cannot save you. Only the Lord
Jesus Christ can give anyone a clean slate and a home in Heaven above.
(Matthew 23:13-15) (Acts 4:12) (John 14:1-3)
This is a good story that I received from one of our members that both
ministered to my heart and made me laugh at the same time. It is a simple
illustration that shows how we are cleansed once and for all when we come
to the Lord Jesus Christ. I hope this message ministers to your heart and
encourages you to trust the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior if you have
never done so before.
THE BARBER
After twenty years of shaving himself every morning, a man in a small
Southern town decided he had enough. He told his wife that he intended to
let the local barber shave him each day. He put on his hat and coat and
went to the barbershop, which was owned by the pastor of the town's
Baptist Church. The barber's wife, Grace, was working that day, so she
performed the task. Grace shaved him and sprayed him with lilac water, and
said, "That will be $20."
The man thought the price was a bit high, but he paid the bill and went to
work. The next morning the man looked in the mirror, and his face was as
smooth as it had been when he left the barbershop the day before. Not bad,
he thought. At least I don't need to get a shave every day. The next
morning, the man's face was still smooth. Two weeks later, the man was
still unable to find any trace of whiskers on his face. It was more than
he could take, so he returned to the barbershop.
"I thought $20 was high for a shave", he told the barber's wife, "but you
must have done a great job. It's been two weeks and my whiskers still
haven't started growing back." The expression on her face didn't even
change, expecting his comment. She responded, "You were shaved by Grace.
Once shaved, always shaved."

Even though this story may be humorous, it holds a great truth concerning
the Lord Jesus Christ. Once we come to Him in repentance and ask Jesus
into our heart and life to be our Lord and Savior, we are forever cleansed
of our past sins and made righteous before God the Father. There isn't
anything that we have done or can do that can make us righteous, but the
Blood of Jesus Christ that was shed on the Cross makes us righteous in
God's eyes when we come to Jesus and ask Him to be our Savior. Jesus
Christ is the sacrifice for all mankind and when Anyone comes to Jesus
wholeheartedly, their past has been erased and their eternal future has
been secured. Once Saved, Always Saved.
(Isaiah 1:18) (Isaiah 64:6-9) (1 John 1:3-10) (Romans 10:9-11)
Another thing that we need to remember is that Love is what brought Jesus
to this Earth. Hate nailed Him on the Cross, but Love allowed it to happen.
We could never understand such great love and sacrifice because we were not
put in that situation, but just imagining the suffering that Jesus went
through that day at Calvary is enough to make my heart break and my spirit
praise God for such great love. I pray that you never take your salvation
lightly. Our salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ may be free, but it
cost God great anguish to see His only begotten Son crucified by the hands
of His own creation. (John 19:1-16) (Luke 22:41-42) (Luke 23:44-46)
If you have been a believer for a while, remember to give thanks for the
sacrifice that was made when Jesus took upon Himself the sins of the world
so that you and I might be righteous and clean before God the Father.
Praise God always and give thanks to Him for He deserves our praise and
thanksgiving, Always. (Hebrews 4:14-15) (Psalm 103:1-5)
Read and meditate on these scriptures:
Romans 10:9-13 "That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and
believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be
saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the
mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, "Whoever
believes on Him will not be put to shame." For there is no distinction
between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call
upon Him. For whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved."
1 John 1:6-9 "If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in
darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the
light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the
blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we
have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we
confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to
cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Ephesians 2:8-10 "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that
not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should
boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works,
which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."
John 3:16-17 Jesus declares "For God so loved the world that He gave His
only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have
everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn
the world, but that the world through Him might be saved."
