With the trials and tribulations of life, it is easy for the believer to
forget that this time on earth is only temporary and will one day not have
any significance when compared to the glories of heaven to which we are
promised. The Bible declares in 1 Corinthians 2:9, "Eye hath not seen, nor
ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which
God hath prepared for them that love Him." This one scripture is enough
to make my imagination reach its limits in trying to comprehend what great
beauty and rest awaits every person who puts their trust and faith in the
Lord Jesus Christ. (Psalm 34:18-19) (2 Corinthians 4:18)
If you are finding yourself overwhelmed or discouraged because of the
trials of life, I hope you take a few minutes to think about your eternal
destination and realize that every situation in your life is temporary and
will one day be greatly overshadowed by the Joy that you will experience in
Heaven with the Lord. Rejoice and rest in this promise.
I hope you will be encouraged by today's story.
I SHALL MEET YOU THERE
Some years ago radio evangelist Charles E. Fuller announced that he would
speak the following Sunday on "Heaven". It was to be broadcast on radio.
During that week he received a letter from an old man who was very ill.
Here is part of that letter: "Next Sunday you are to talk about 'Heaven'.
I am interested in that land because I have held a clear title to a bit of
property there for over 55 years. I did not buy it. It was given to me
without money and without price. But the donor purchased it for me at a
tremendous sacrifice. I am not holding it for speculation since the title
is nontransferable. It is not a vacant lot."
"For more than a half-century, I have been sending material out of which
the greatest architect and builder of the universe has been building a
home for me, which will never need to be repaired because it will suit me
perfectly, individually, and will never grow old."
"Termites can never undermine its foundation for it rests upon the Rock of
Ages. Fire cannot destroy it. Floods cannot wash it away. No locks or
bolts will ever be placed upon its doors, for no vicious person can ever
enter that land where my dwelling stands, now almost completed and ready
for me to enter it and abide in peace eternally without fear of being ejected."
"There is a valley of deep shadow between the place where I live in
California and that to which I shall journey in a very short time. I
cannot reach my home in the City of God without passing through the dark
valley of shadows. But I am not afraid, because the best friend that I
have ever had went through the same valley alone, a long, long, time ago
and drove away all the gloom. He has stuck by me through thick and thin
since we first met and became acquainted 55 years ago, and I hold His
promise in printed form, never to forsake nor to leave me alone. He will
be with me as I walk through the valley of shadows, and I shall not lose
my way when He is with me."
"I hope to hear your sermon on Heaven next Sunday from my home, but I have
no assurance that I shall be able to do so. My ticket to heaven has no
date marked for the journey...no return coupon...and no permit for baggage.
Yes, I am ready to go and may not be here while you are talking next
Sunday, but I shall meet you there some day."

I encourage you to never forget the promise of the Lord. The troubles of
this world will be forgotten and replaced with Joy unspeakable. The Lord
Jesus Christ tells us not to worry and to rest in His eternal Promise as He
declares in John 14:1-3, "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in
God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions: if it were
not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go
and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto
Myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."
Remember God's promise the next time trouble comes your way. Don't ever
feel discouraged from calling upon the Lord for comfort and reassurance.
He promises to be with us when we are downhearted and will be faithful to
lift us up when we are feeling low. Trust in God's goodness and know that
He loves you greatly and will one day receive you unto Himself where you
will be for all Eternity. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18) (Psalm 145:14-19)
Read and meditate on these scriptures:
Psalm 34:17-20 "The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth
them out of all their troubles. The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a
broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the
afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken."
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 "For which cause we faint not; but though our outward
man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light
affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding
and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are
seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen
are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal."
Revelation 21:3-4 "And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold,
the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they
shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no
more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more
pain: for the former things are passed away."
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 "And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and
I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto
the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He that calleth you, who
also will do it."
