307th -- Time And Wisdom

It is easy for any person to get down and discouraged when they focus on
the problem rather than focusing on the Lord. Our God is an awesome God
who has the power to change even the worst report, but our attitude must be
one of faith and trust and we must have the appearance of victory no matter
what the enemy is trying to say. The Bible declares in Psalm 118:24, "This
is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it."
Every day that we awake, we are to have the attitude of a rejoicing people
because our God is still on His throne and in God's book, all is well. The
scripture says we will rejoice, not we should rejoice, so I encourage you
to have the attitude of victory no matter what hardships may be coming your
way. (Hebrews 11:1) (Mark 9:23) (Romans 12:10-12)

I hope you are blessed and encouraged by today's message.

TIME AND WISDOM

Once upon a time there was an island where all feelings lived: Happiness,
Sadness, Knowledge, and all of the others, including Love. One day it was
announced to the feelings that the island would sink, so all repaired their
boats and left. Love was the only one who stayed. Love wanted to persevere
until the last possible moment. When the island was almost sinking, Love
decided to ask for help.

Richness was passing by Love in a grand boat. Love said, "Richness, can you
take me with you?" Richness answered, "No, I can't. There is a lot of gold
and silver in my boat. There is no place here for you." Love decided to ask
Vanity, who was also passing by in a beautiful vessel. "Vanity, please help
me!" "I can't help you, Love. You are all wet and might damage my boat,"
Vanity answered. Sadness was close by so Love asked for help. "Sadness,
let me go with you." "Oh, Love, I am so sad that I need to be by myself!"
Happiness passed by Love, too, but she was so happy that she did not even
hear when Love called her!

Suddenly a voice said, "Come, Love, I will take you." It was an elder of
Love. Love felt so blessed and overjoyed that he even forgot to ask the
elder her name. When they arrived on dry land, the elder went her own way.
Love, realizing how much he owed the elder, asked Knowledge, another elder,
"Who helped me?" "It was Time," Knowledge answered. "Time?" asked Love.
"But why did Time help me?" Knowledge smiled with deep Wisdom and answered,
"Because only with Time and Wisdom are you capable of understanding how
great Love is."

Imagine what a world we would be living in if there were no love. The love
that a parent shows to their child, the love that a pastor shows to his
congregation, the love and compassion friends show towards each other and
especially the Love of God that He freely offers to all who will receive.
Thankfully love does exist and as believers we are called to love
unconditionally just as God loves us unconditionally. We read in 1 John
4:10-11, "In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and
sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved
us, we also ought to love one another." (Mark 12:30-31) (Matthew 5:14-16)

I pray that we all remember God's great love for humanity. The Lord never
changes His ways and is faithful to keep His promise. The Lord loves and
commands us to love just the same because we belong to Him. The next time
someone tests your patience, remember that Love is kind and compassionate
and as the scripture says, Love never fails. (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24)

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 "Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy;
love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does
not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in
iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails…"

Romans 12:9-12 "Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling
to what is good. Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly
love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence,
fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in
tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer."

1 John 4:15-16 "Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides
in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God
has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God
in him."

All of these scriptures can be found in the New King James Version Bible.
