With the many pressures of life, it's important that we have a lighthearted
attitude towards any situation that tries to steal our Joy. We must
remember to be humble and lowly in heart and not allow this world to make
us lose focus of the One who has called us out of darkness and into His
marvellous light. Having a lighthearted and cheerful attitude not only
helps to keep our peace, but it also helps to restore our health. The
Bible declares in Proverbs 17:22 "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine:
but a broken spirit drieth the bones." Have a merry heart and do not
allow the pressures of the enemy to steal your Joy and make you question
your peace. Stand steadfast in your faith and make up your mind that your
Peace, Cheerfulness and Joy will continue all the days of your life.
(Matthew 11:28-30) (1 Peter 2:9) (1 Peter 5:5-9) (Nehemiah 8:10)
I hope you are encouraged and blessed by today's message.
THE VISION OF CHILDREN
When I look at a patch of dandelions, I see a bunch of weeds that are
going to take over my yard. My kids see flowers for Mom and blowing white
fluff you can wish on.
When I look at an old drunk and he smiles at me, I see a smelly, dirty
person who probably wants money and I look away. My kids see someone
smiling at them and they smile back.
When I hear music I love, I know I can't carry a tune and don't have much
rhythm so I sit self consciously and listen. My kids feel the beat and
move to it. They sing out the words. If they don't know them, they make
up their own.
When I feel wind on my face, I brace myself against it. I feel it messing
up my hair and pulling me back when I walk. My kids close their eyes,
spread their arms and fly with it until they fall to the ground laughing.
When I pray I say Thee and Thou and grant me this, give me that. My kids
say, "Hi God! Thanks for my toys and my friends. Please keep the bad
dreams away tonight. Sorry, I don't want to go to Heaven yet. I would miss
my Mommy and Daddy."
When I see a mud puddle, I step around it. I see muddy shoes and clothes
and dirty carpets. My kids sit in it. They see dams to build, rivers to
cross and worms to play with.
I wonder if we are given kids to teach or to learn from?
No wonder God loves the little children!!

Be encouraged to not be so serious all the time. If you are finding
yourself having a bad day, stop yourself and think on something good or
funny. Have a merry heart and keep it in your mind that it is for your own
best interest to take it easy and enjoy right now. The Bible declares in
Proverbs 15:13 "A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow
of the heart the spirit is broken." It is our choice whether we have peace
and joy or heartbreak and disappointment. The Lord has done all the work
that needed to be done and now it is up to us whether we accept it or
reject it. (Colossians 3:1-2) (Isaiah 53:4-5) (Deuteronomy 30:19-20)
I encourage you to see the good in all things and do not allow the voice
of discouragement to penetrate your heart. Have a merry heart and allow
God's peace to infiltrate every area of your life. You will find very soon
if you choose to have a merry heart that your health, joy, contentment and
peace will be elevated to heights never before imagined.
Read and meditate on these scriptures:
Romans 12:15-17 "Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that
weep. Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but
condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of
all men."
1 Peter 5:5-7 "…Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed
with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty Hand of God, that He may exalt
you in due time: Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you."
Philippians 4:8-9 "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true,
whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things
are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good
report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these
things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard,
and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you."
