The power and authority of the Lord Jesus Christ is extended to all those
who believe and trust in His Name. The Lord Jesus declares in Luke 10:19
"Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over
all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you." We
have been given authority over the devil and all his evil devices and must
make a conscious effort to stand in our ability through Christ. There are
many Bible believing Christians who do not take hold of their authority
when the enemy comes with his temptations, but rather they get discouraged
and forget of the power that stands ready behind them. We have been given
a weapon that is promised to defeat even the greatest adversary and that
weapon is the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Matthew 16:19) (John 10:10-11)
At the mention of His name all devils must bow and surrender their attacks.
The Bible declares in Philippians 2:10-11 "That at the name of Jesus every
knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under
the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father." In Him is power, beauty and glory that
is unsurpassed. His authority is to be made manifest through our lives so
that all may know who we belong to. (Hebrews 2:14-15) (Ephesians 6:10-18)
I hope you are encouraged and strengthened by today's message to take hold
of your authority as a believer and know that you do have power over all
the principalities of the enemy.
THE BIBLE SALESMAN
An old man, selling books and Bibles, slumped down in the seat of his
buggy as he rode along through the rain and the sticky mud of the Texas
black land country.
Taking advantage of the dark and gloomy day, the devil whispered to the
aged saint, "Look at all the dark and ugly sins of your yesterdays. Think
of all the broken resolutions, the failures, and the foolish things you've
done. You might as well give up. You can never make heaven."
The old man sat bolt upright. Half aloud he said, "Devil, be gone! Go talk
to Jesus Christ about me. He is my representative. I've turned my life
completely over to Him." The devil left and the old saint rode triumphantly
on through the rain.

Be encouraged and know that you are a mighty warrior through Christ. The
same power that Jesus displayed throughout His life is promised to all
those who trust in Him. The Lord Jesus says in John 14:12, "Verily,
verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall
he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my
Father." Let God's word resonate within your spirit and realize who you
are because of the Lord Jesus Christ. Stand in your authority and know
that God is proudest when we realize who we are because of the sacrifice
of His beloved Son. (1 Timothy 6:16-18) (1 Peter 4:11) (Revelation 1:6-8)
Read and meditate on these scriptures:
Philippians 2:9-11 "Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given
Him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee
should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the
earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to
the glory of God the Father."
Ephesians 3:10-13 "To the intent that now unto the principalities and
powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom
of God, According to the eternal purpose which He purposed in Christ Jesus
our Lord: In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith
of Him. Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you,
which is your glory."
Matthew 16:19 Jesus says, "And I will give unto thee the keys of the
kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound
in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."
Ephesians 6:10-12 "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the
power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to
stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and
blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of
the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
