I hope you are doing well and are in the best of health. I am doing very
well and am thankful to the Lord for another day that He has given us. We
should always be thankful for another day because there are many people who
were alive in this world yesterday, but are not with us today. Tomorrow
is promised to no man so when it comes we should remember to give thanks.
(Nehemiah 8:10) (James 4:13-14) (Psalm 118:24)
Recently while I was meditating on a verse of scripture, the Lord gave me a
Revelation on the power and authority the believer possesses because of the
Lord Jesus Christ. I hope you are encouraged and challenged by today's
message to take hold of your authority as a believer and realize how
powerful you are because of the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ.
As always, I do give God all the glory, honor and praise for His continued
leading with this Ministry. (Luke 10:19-20) (John 19:30) (Mark 16:17)
The Lord Jesus declares in Matthew 16:19, "I will give you the keys of the
kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven,
and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." I have read
this scripture many times as I'm sure many of you have, but when I read
this scripture again recently the word that sprang to life in my spirit was
the word 'Keys'. We know that keys symbolize and emphasize authority. A
simple illustration can be one of entering into your car. If you have the
key to unlock the door, then we know that you have the authority to enter
into and possess what that key was made for. It is the same thing
concerning the authority that God gives to the believer. (John 14:12-14)
We have been given the authority to bind and loose according to the
circumstances of the situation that comes before us. When the devil tries
to bring death by devices such as drugs, alcohol, etc., we are to realize
what the end result is and immediately bind and rebuke the enemy from
bringing these devices into our life and our families lives. We can bind
the spirit of alcoholism and drug addiction and ask God to loose his angels
to protect us from the enemy's proposed attacks. We can bind the spirit of
anger and strife and rebuke and cancel out the plans of the enemy for our
life. We have been given great authority, but if we do not stand in who
God has called us to be, then we should never expect to live in victory.
(Galatians 5:16-26) (James 3:13-18) (Psalm 34:6-10)
The difference between the one who overcomes and the one who doesn't is the
overcomer realizes their authority in Christ and takes hold of what God has
freely given them. When problems seem to be coming our way from every
possible direction, we must be quick to realize that this is an attack of
the enemy trying to shake the foundation which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
When such attacks come, we are to take hold of the keys of the kingdom of
heaven which the Lord Jesus has given to the believer and bind the devil
and all his evil devices. The Bible says whatever we bind on earth will
be bound in heaven and whatever we loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
Heaven is ready to move on our behalf, but nothing will happen until we
realize our authority and stand in it. (Deuteronomy 30:19) (Ephesians 1:19-23)
I hope you are encouraged and challenged by this simple message to realize
that God has called us to be victorious over every situation that comes our
way trying to bring us down. We are to believe God and understand that
because of the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ and the finished work of
the Cross, we are now partakers of the victory that He accomplished for all
mankind. The Bible declares in Colossians 1:12-13, "Giving thanks unto the
Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the
saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath
translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son." We have been delivered
from darkness into light, so let us Rejoice in the goodness of God for
forgiving our sins and giving us His name to defeat the powers of the
enemy. (2 Corinthians 10:3-5) (Romans 8:13-17) (Acts 26:18)
Read and meditate on these scriptures:
John 10:10-11 Jesus says, "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to
kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they
might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd
giveth His life for the sheep."
Psalm 91:14-16 "Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I
deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known My name. He
shall call upon Me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and
shew him My salvation."
John 1:10-12 "He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the
world knew Him not. He came unto His own, and His own received Him not.
But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of
God, even to them that believe on His name."
Ephesians 6:10-14 "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the
power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to
stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and
blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of
the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to
withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore..."
Revelation 1:5-6 "…Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in
His own blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father;
to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen."
