There are many people in this world that don't give their hearts to the
Lord because they think they have time to get right with God after all the
worldly examples of 'fun' have been had. That is a lie that comes straight
from the pits of hell and has been falsely believed by multitudes. The
Bible tells us that today is the day of salvation and no man should think
that tomorrow is promised to him. We are also warned that our life however
long it may seem is like a vapor that appears for a little time and then
vanishes away. We are to think consciously and not play games with our
eternal soul. We know deep in our hearts that we are sinners and in need
of God's forgiveness. The good news is the Bible says when we come to God
and ask Him to forgive us of our sins; He washes them away and cleanses us
from all our unrighteousness. What a merciful God we have who is willing
to forgive us completely and receive us unto Himself without question or
hesitation. (2 Corinthians 6:1-2) (James 4:13-16) (1 John 1:5-10)
I hope you are challenged by today's message to see that today is the day
to get right with God if you have strayed away from Him. He is the father
who loves you and has promised to not cast you aside.
YOUR LIFE'S PATH
"Thanks for inviting me to go to church with you next Sunday, Uncle Al."
Tim and his uncle were on their way to Bonny Lake. They had heard the
fishing there was great. "I...I don't want to hurt your feelings,"
continued Tim, "but...well...I'm not sure I want to get into this religious
stuff. Besides, Mom and Dad don't think it's a good idea."
"Oh?" asked Uncle Al in surprise. "I thought you said that your parents
wouldn't mind if you went with me. You sounded quite interested last week.
You even said the Gospel was beginning to make sense to you."
"Yeah, but since then I've done a lot of thinking," Tim said slowly. "I
don't think I feel like getting 'saved' right now. The crowd I hang around
with at school wouldn't understand, and I like being with them. Someday
I'll start going to church, but I think I'll just go on the way I am for a
while. I know I'm not perfect, but I'm not so bad, either."
Tim's uncle drove on silently for a few minutes. "Oh, no!" he exclaimed as
they passed a road sign. "I was so intent on our conversation that I missed
the turnoff! We should have gotten off this road five miles back!"
"Guess we'll have to turn around and go back now, huh?" asked Tim.
But Uncle Al shook his head. "I don't feel like turning around right now,"
he said. "I guess we'll just keep going this way. I kind of like this road,
and the scenery is nice."
Tim looked at his uncle in amazement. "But we have to turn around to get
to Bonny Lake," he protested, "and the longer we keep going this way, the
longer it will take to get back. If we wait too long to turn around, we
might not even get there in time to fish."
Uncle Al smiled at Tim as he slowed down for the next turn. "You're right,"
he said, "and what you said just now is exactly what I've been trying to
tell you about spiritual life...that when you're traveling down the wrong
road, the sooner you turn around, the better. If you wait too long, you
might never get to your goal: Heaven."

Be encouraged to call upon the Lord and share with Him all that is on your
heart. If you have never committed your life to Christ, there is no better
time than right now. Simply confess your sins and repent of them and
acknowledge that Christ died on the cross for your redemption and receive
Him as your Lord and Savior. The Bible declares in 2 Corinthians 5:17
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are
passed away; behold, all things are become new." He is able to erase your
past and secure your future. Don't wait for tomorrow to accept Christ as
Lord and Savior because it may never come. Today is the day of Salvation.
Read and meditate on these scriptures:
2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men
count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any
should perish, but that all should come to repentance."
Acts 4:12 "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other
name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."
Romans 10:9-11 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;
and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture
saith, Whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed."
Psalm 103:2-5 "Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits:
Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who
redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness
and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy
youth is renewed like the eagle's."
All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
