We are to live selfless lives and not believe the lies of this world that
is constantly trying to make us believe that we should only care about our
own well-being. It is important that we remember to be heavenly minded and
see that we will give an account of the life that we have lived on the
earth. No matter how old a person may get in age, it will pass all
too
quickly and be as a vapor that appears for a short time and then vanishes
away. It is for this reason that we are to esteem others higher than we
esteem ourselves and be a living testimony of the love of God and share
with others what great things He has done for us. (James 4:14) (Phil. 2:2-3)
I hope today's message ministers to your heart to see that it is not only
beneficial to others who receive our intervention, but by being a blessing,
we will find ourselves abundantly blessed.
CHOOSE ONE
You are driving along in your car on a wild, stormy night, when you pass
by a bus stop, and you see three people waiting for the bus:
1. An elderly woman who is having a potentially life-threatening health trauma.
2. An old friend who once saved your life.
3. The perfect partner you have been dreaming about.
There can only be one passenger in your car. To which one do you provide a
ride?
Think it over before you continue reading...
OK, have you made your choice? Go ahead then, read on...
This is a moral/ethical dilemma that was once actually used as part of a
job application. You could pick up the old lady, because she is going to
die, and thus you should save her first; Or you could take the old friend
because he once saved your life, and this would be the perfect chance to
pay him back. However, you may never be able to find your perfect mate again.
The candidate who was hired (out of 200 applicants) had no trouble coming
up with his answer. He simply answered: “I would give the car keys to my
old friend and let him take the sick woman to the hospital. Then, I could
stay behind and wait for the bus with the partner of my dreams.”
Sometimes, we gain more if we are able to give up our stubborn thought
limitations.
Never forget to “Think Outside of the Box.”

The Lord Jesus made it simple when He declared in Matthew 16:25-26 “For
whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his
life for My sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall
gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in
exchange for his soul?” The Lord has set His Word for our edification and
we are to heed His warnings and live a life that brings glory and honor to
His name.
Be encouraged to live for God and allow your life to be a testimony of His
love and care to all who are hurting and in need around you.
Read and meditate on these scriptures:
Galatians 6:9-10 “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season
we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do
good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”
Mark 10:28-31 “Then Peter began to say unto Him, Lo, we have left all, and
have followed Thee. And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you,
There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father,
or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for My sake, and the gospel’s,
But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren,
and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and
in the world to come Eternal Life. But many that are first shall be last;
and the last first.”
1 Corinthians 10:31-33 “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever
ye do, do all to the glory of God. Give none offence, neither to the Jews,
nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God: Even as I please all men in
all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they
may be saved.”
