477th -- Just Up The Road

We should always keep in mind that our life should be used to minister to
and take care of those who are in need around us. If we found ourselves in
need and only someone else could provide the help, we would welcome that
assistance and pray that God would bless them for helping us. In the same
manner that we would welcome help, we ought to lend a helping hand towards
those who are distressed or discouraged where they are. (Romans 15:1-4)

We are to remember that we are God's stewards on the earth and the example
that we leave as believers in Jesus Christ, reflects directly on the God
whom we say we love. The Bible declares in 1 John 4:7 “Beloved, let us
love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of
God, and knoweth God.” Be encouraged to lead a life that is not only
pleasing to your fellow man, but to God Almighty who has called you out of
darkness and into His marvellous light. (Luke 12:35-44) (Titus 1:7-9)

I hope you are inspired by today's message to lead your life by example and
shine the light that is within you where all will be encouraged and blessed
because of your living testimony.

JUST UP THE ROAD

Just up the road from my home is a field, with two horses in it. From a
distance, each looks like every other horse. But if one stops the car, or
is walking by, one will notice something quite amazing.

Looking into the eyes of one horse will disclose that he is blind. His
owner has chosen not to have him put down, but has made a good home for
him. This alone is amazing.

Listening, one will hear the sound of a bell. Looking around for the source
of the sound, one will see that it comes from the smaller horse in the
field. Attached to her halter is a small bell. It lets her blind friend
know where she is, so he can follow her.

As one stands and watches these two friends, one sees how she is always
checking on him, and that he will listen for her bell and then slowly walk
to where he is trusting that she will not lead him astray.

Like the owner of these two horses, God does not throw us away just because
we are not perfect or because we have problems or challenges.

He watches over us and even brings others into our lives to help us when we
are in need.

Sometimes we are the blind horse being guided by God and those whom He
places in our lives. Other times we are the guide horse, helping others
see God.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Galatians 6:2-4 “Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of
Christ. For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he
deceiveth himself. But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he
have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.”

1 Peter 1:22 “Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth
through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love
one another with a pure heart fervently.”

1 Peter 4:8-10 “And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves:
for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. Use hospitality one to
another without grudging. As every man hath received the gift, even so
minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace
of God.”

Hebrews 12:1-3 “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great
a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth
so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set
before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for
the Joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and
is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him that
endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest ye be wearied
and faint in your minds.”

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
