547th -- Home For Christmas

We who have made Jesus Christ the Lord of our life should never fear death
or dying. The Lord has given His assurance that the new life to come will
overshadow any trial or hardship that came our way on the earth and the Joy
that will last for eternity will be unspeakable. It is true that we should
make the most of our life now on the earth so that it is pleasing to God,
but we should also remember that our home is not on this earth, but will be
with God in Heaven forevermore. Rejoice in this fact and remember that the
trials in your life are only temporary and will one day be gone never to
return again. Praise God. (Psalm 139:17-18) (Revelation 21:3-4)

I hope you are encouraged by today's message to see that this life is only
temporary, but the new life to come will last forever and will overshadow
every heartbreak and trial that came our way.

HOME FOR CHRISTMAS

“I shall miss mother this Christmas,” my friend a clerk in a shop told me.
The clerk's mother had died recently, and this would be the first Christmas
without her.

When her mother was in the hospital, the doctor had told the family to stay
out of her room so that she could rest. The clerk said, “So I stayed in the
hall, waiting and listening. Finally I could stand it no longer and I went
into her room.” Mother said, “I though you'd never come!” Blinking back
tears, the clerk added, with a smile, “You know, I think that will be the
first words she will say to me when I get to heaven.”

The Bible says, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His
saints.” (Psalm 116:15) I often have looked at death from my own
perspective and not from God's point of view. Just as “there is joy in the
presence of angels of God over one sinner that repenteth” (Luke 15:10) so
too there is joy in heaven over each child of God who goes Home.

And that is what my friend, the clerk, really was saying.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Isaiah 41:10 “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am
thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold
thee with the right hand of My righteousness.”

Psalm 139:7-10 “Whither shall I go from Thy spirit? or whither shall I flee
from Thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, Thou art there: if I make
my bed in hell, behold, Thou art there. If I take the wings of the
morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall Thy
hand lead me, and Thy right hand shall hold me.”

Revelation 21:3-4 “And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold,
the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they
shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no
more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more
pain: for the former things are passed away.”

Psalm 139:17-18 “How precious also are Thy thoughts unto me, O God! how
great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number
than the sand: when I awake, I am still with Thee.”

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
