We should always be quick to remember that it is the simple things in life
that bring the greatest joy. Many times we fall for the lie that having
material possessions is what is required for us to have contentment and joy
in our lives. Those who have experienced material possessions can testify
to the fact that the fun and joy that those possessions initially brought
soon disappeared and did not fill their spirit like they thought it would.
The only thing that can fill us with joy that is unspeakable and a peace
that is everlasting is the Spirit of God who dwells within us filling us
with all spiritual blessings and showing us that only He is required in
order for us to be content. (1 Timothy 6:6-12) (1 Corinthians 3:16-20)
Never allow the enemy to bombard your life with lies that you need certain
possessions in order to be complete. The only thing we truly need is the
Lord in our lives who fills us with His peace, joy and love that lasts for
all eternity. Be encouraged to trust the Lord with your life and allow Him
to lead and guide you all the days of your life. He knows you better than
you know yourself and wishes to lead you onto the best path as He sees fit.
I hope this message encourages your heart to see that it is the simple
things in life that bring the greatest Joy.
THE TRUE RICHES OF LIFE
I spent part of this morning taking pictures of some of the Autumn leaves
in the woods near my home. They are so beautiful this time of the year. The
reds, yellows, and gold's bring beauty to the eye, delight to the heart,
and joy to the soul. I have always considered them to be one of life's
treasures and I continue to grow in my appreciation of them with each
passing year.
The funny thing is that as my appreciation for God's glorious gifts of
nature grows, my desire for the material things in life shrinks. My wife
says I am very hard to buy a gift for, because I never want anything. I
guess the reason for that is I already feel like I have everything. I am
rich in all the eternal things. I am rich in love, joy, peace, and
happiness. I am rich in family, friends, and loved ones. I am rich in all
the delights that nature and life brings. I am rich in feeling the oneness
of God all around me.
One of the truly richest people I ever knew was my Godfather. His name was
Frankie and he lived up the hill from our home. He was always smiling and
happy. He was a constant source of love and joy in my life. I visited him
everyday. The fact that he lived in an old house without electricity or
running water didn't bother either of us. He could have afforded a better
home, but having food, shelter, and clothes he was content. He knew the
true riches of life came from the soul not the pocketbook.
Remember then, the true riches of life aren't cars, homes, stocks, or cash.
The true riches of life are the joy, love, and light you carry within you.
The true wealth in life is the happiness you create and share with others.
May each and every one of you be forever wealthy in the true riches of life.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:
Acts 17:24-28 “God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that
He is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;
Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though He needed any thing,
seeing He giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; And hath made of
one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth,
and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their
habitation; That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after
Him, and find Him, though He be not far from every one of us: For in Him
we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets
have said, For we are also His offspring.”
Psalm 28:6-8 “Blessed be the LORD, because He hath heard the voice of my
supplications. The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in
Him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my
song will I praise Him. The LORD is their strength, and He is the saving
strength of His anointed.”
Psalm 37:23-27 “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and He
delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down:
for the LORD upholdeth him with His hand. I have been young, and now am
old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging
bread. He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed. Depart
from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.”
Matthew 6:19-21 Jesus says, “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon
earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through
and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither
moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor
steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”
All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
