718th -- Alexander Honors Big Request

When we seek the Lord in prayer and bring our requests before Him, we
should never do so with timidity or fear. We are to come confidently
before God's throne knowing that He loves us and wishes to meet our every
need. The Lord who sits on heaven's throne controls all things at all
times in all places. There is nothing too hard for God. He has proved His
faithfulness time and time again and God has never fallen short in giving
His creation all that they require. We are to remember how God was
faithful to the Saints of old. He was with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He
was with Daniel in the lion's den and made Joseph second in command of all
of Egypt. Those who trusted in God and believed He would be with them were
never found lacking. The Bible says that Abraham believed God and it was
counted to him for righteousness. God is proud of us when we stand firm in
Him knowing that no evil shall befall us or come nigh our dwelling.
(Hebrews 4:16) (Psalm 145:13-19) (Genesis 41:40-44) (Psalm 91:7-11)

God is able to do the impossible, but we must believe God and trust that He
is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we can ask or even think.
The Bible declares in Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to
please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He
is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” Trust that God is bigger
than your problems and when you come before Him, do so with confidence
knowing that God loves you and wishes to meet your every need. (Ephesians 3:20)

I hope this simple story encourages your heart to seek God in confidence
knowing that He can meet every request that you bring before Him.

ALEXANDER HONORS BIG REQUEST

An indigent philosopher at the court of Alexander The Great sought relief
at the hand of the sovereign ruler.

Alexander gave an order to his treasurer to give any sum the philosopher
should ask.

When the treasurer returned, the philosopher immediately demanded ten
thousand pounds.

The treasurer was demurred at the extravagant amount; but Alexander
replied, “Let the money be instantly paid. I am delighted with this
philosopher’s way of thinking. He has done me a singular honor. By the
largeness of his request, he shows the high idea he has conceived of my
wealth and munificence.”

God is honored in like manner.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Jeremiah 32:17-19 “Ah Lord GOD! behold, Thou hast made the heaven and the
earth by Thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too
hard for Thee: Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest
the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them:
the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts, is His name, Great in
counsel, and mighty in work: for Thine eyes are open upon all the ways of
the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to
the fruit of his doings.”

James 1:5-7 “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to
all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let
him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of
the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that
he shall receive any thing of the Lord.”

Matthew 7:7-11 Jesus declares
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye
shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that
asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it
shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread,
will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how
much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them
that ask Him?”

Psalm 34:1-6 “I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall
continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the
humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the LORD with me, and
let us exalt His name together. I sought the LORD, and He heard me, and
delivered me from all my fears. They looked unto Him, and were lightened:
and their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried, and the LORD heard
him, and saved him out of all his troubles.”

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
