72nd -- Our Ministry Testimony

I have been praying about what message to send to you and I felt the Lord
impress upon my heart to share how this whole ministry was started and so
that is what today's message is about. I know that if God can use me in
ministry work, He can use anyone. All He is looking for is a willing and
surrendered heart to let God lead the way.

I have been a Christian for almost 8 years now. I accepted Jesus as my
Savior when I was 18 years old and I thank Him daily for the wonderful
changes He has made in my life. I grew in the Lord by spending time
reading my Bible and learning from other pastors who were much more
knowledgeable than I was. I am still learning and allowing God's Word to
get deep in my spirit where it will grow and make me a better servant of
the Lord.

I enjoyed playing strategy games online with people from around the world
and I made many friends doing so. I played almost everyday for one year
and then on June 15, 1999 after I turned my computer off, I prayed a very
simple prayer. I prayed "Lord, if you want to use me in ministry work,
here I am willing to do all that you ask of me." God did not waste
any time because the following day I received an email from someone I
didn't know and attached was a story called "Just A Reminder". It was a
story about spending more time in prayer and I took that as a sign to do
so.

After seeking the Lord in prayer, I felt Him leading me to write a
Salvation letter. I didn't know exactly what to write but God led me as
He always does and gave me the words. I sent the letter, which was
titled "Invitation" to friends and family and they in turn sent it on to
others. I have written two more salvation letters since then and many
people have given their hearts to the Lord through them. Praise God.
(All 3 letters are available on the website)

Over the next few months the ministry was growing and I felt the Lord
leading me to start a website ministry. I had no experience in this area
and was hesitant at first, but after spending time in prayer I felt peace
in my heart and knew God would lead the way. I received many great
stories and poems from friends and thought it would be great to place them
on the site so others would get a blessing just as I had. I let God lead
the way and the outcome was a wonderful, easy to use, blessed website.
Glory to the Lord.

Many people were being blessed by the website and within a few months I
received numerous messages from people asking if I had a mailing list. I
did not, but after praying and asking guidance from the Lord, I knew that
was the next step. I started the Encouragement Ministry in March of 2000
and to my surprise many people were asking to be added to the list. I had
no training in writing and proper grammar but I knew that if I took this
new step in faith that God would be faithful in giving me the words for
every message and He has.

About one month after the encouragement ministry was started I felt God
leading me to start a prayer ministry. Again, I had no experience in
leading a prayer ministry, but I trusted the Lord and knew that He would
give me the wisdom to handle it. Things started off slow but there are
now over 1500 prayer partners joined with us to pray for God's people. I
thank the Lord for these precious people who give of their time in praying
for others. The prayer ministry has been a blessing to thousands of
members who have sent in a prayer request since its inception.

There are still new areas being developed and this is by far not the end
of the story, but I wanted to share with you how everything was started so
that you may be encouraged if you're starting something new for the Lord.
I would be lying to you if I said everything went smoothly because it
didn't. The enemy has fought hard trying to discourage and defeat me and
this ministry, but I have One on my side that is unbeatable and I thank my
God for standing by my side when things got rough.

If the Lord is leading you in ministry work, the best advice I can give
you is to spend time in prayer and be sensitive to His leading. God will
never ask you to do something that you are not capable of doing. He will
give you the strength and wisdom to accomplish all that He wants you to
do. He led Moses, He led Abraham and He will lead you, just trust in Him.

Below are scriptures that I read and think of often. I hope you will be
blessed and encouraged by meditating on them as well:

Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto
thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall
direct thy paths."

1 Peter 5:5-7 "Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder.
Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility:
for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble
yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you
in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."

Philippians 1:6 "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath
begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."

Jeremiah 29:11-13 "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith
the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected
end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I
will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall
search for me with all your heart."

Psalm 91:14-16 "Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I
deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He
shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and
shew him my salvation."

All scriptures can be found in the King James Version.

To God belongs all of the Glory, Honor and Praise for His leading and
blessings upon this Ministry. I dare not take the credit because God did
it all and to Him belongs all the Glory. Amen.

In Christ Service,
