725th -- Choosing Confidence

We should start each new day remembering the promise of God found in
Jeremiah 29:11 which declares “For I know the thoughts that I think toward
you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an
expected end.” The Lord does not instill within our hearts fear so that
we will fail, but rather He gives each of us a measure of faith and wishes
for us to believe His Word and stand strong in life. Jesus Christ has
already conquered death, hell and the grave. When Jesus was on the cross,
He said It Is Finished. Everything that we require to live in Victory has
already been accomplished for us by the sacrifice Jesus Christ made on the
cross of Calvary. (Romans 12:3) (Revelation 1:18) (John 19:30) (Mark 16:15-20)

He gave His life for us so that we may stand in victory for Him. Believe
in yourself as God believes in you and reach forth towards your goals with
assurance that God is cheering you on. He does not wish for you to fail,
but rather He wants you to succeed and do so triumphantly. The Bible
declares in 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear;
but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” Always remember that God
loves you and wishes for you to end victoriously. (2 Timothy 4:7-8)

I hope this message ministers to your heart to believe in yourself no
matter what anyone else says about you. Remember you and God are the
majority and as long as you depend on Him, victory is promised to be yours.

CHOOSING CONFIDENCE

Carefully examining a display in the drugstore, a man asked the pharmacist,
“Do you really guarantee this hair-restorer?”

The pharmacist responded, “Better than that, sir. We give a comb with every
bottle.” Wouldn't you love to have that kind of confidence?

One man quipped, “When it comes to believing in myself, I'm an agnostic.”
One of the greatest problems many people experience is lack of confidence.
Some don't believe in their ability to speak in public, others are afraid
to try something they've never done before, and still others do not have
the confidence to overcome their shyness.

Do you know that you can become more confident? One effective technique is
to learn to do what you're afraid to do.

I led a seminar a few years ago where I asked for three volunteers to speak
to the group the next day. One young woman named Judy was the first to
raise her hand. She explained to me later why she did so: “When you asked
for three volunteers,” Judy said, “I felt a knot of fear in my stomach.
I've never done anything like this before and I've never really believed I
could. But the fear was telling me something,” she continued. “So...because
I felt so anxious, I decided that this was something I had to do. But I
must to tell you, I'm terrified!”

She made up her mind to do that which she was afraid to do. And the
following day, Judy's five-minute talk was superb! She was honest and
genuine, speaking right from her heart. Now she is more confident about her
ability to speak in public.

People who are confident have choices. People who are fearful too often
avoid much of life because they are afraid to venture into unknown territory.

Jim Loehr said, “With confidence, you can reach truly amazing heights;
without confidence, even the simplest accomplishments are beyond your
grasp.” When you make what you're afraid to do what you CHOOSE to do, you
will soon have the confidence TO DO whatever you choose!

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Joshua 1:9 “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be
not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee
whithersoever thou goest.”

Psalm 37:3-6 “Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the
land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and
He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the
LORD; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass. And He shall bring
forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.”

Hebrews 10:22-24 “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of
faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies
washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith
without wavering; (for He is faithful that promised;) And let us consider
one another to provoke unto love and to good works.”

Psalm 37:23-25 “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and He
delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down:
for the LORD upholdeth him with His hand. I have been young, and now am
old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.”

Philippians 1:6 “Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath
begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
