Those who have made Jesus Christ the Lord of their life have not only made
a glorious decision concerning their eternity, but they have also made a
decision that impacts their life here on the Earth. By having the Lord
Jesus in our hearts now, we are well prepared to handle and fend off all
of the attacks of the enemy. Many believe the untruth that Christians
have no problems, but I am here to tell you that problems don't really
exist until you become a Christian. Many times when you are in the world,
everything goes your way and the world is your oyster. But when you make
a decision to follow Christ, you are offending the god of this world. The
enemy doesn't want the believer to be happy and trouble-free, so he will
bring all manner of devices against them. He will try to discourage their
heart, he will attack their finances, he will try to turn family against
each other and the list can continue on. Being a Christian isn't easy,
but following Christ and knowing the peace that He offers is worth every
price. (2 Corinthians 12:8-10) (2 Corinthians 4:8-14) (Philippians 4:4-7)
There is no point in going through this life trouble-free if there is no
peace that fills the heart. Only Jesus can fill the void in our hearts
because nothing else has the solution to our problem. Jesus is our only
solution and only He can save our soul and give us peace that surpasses
all understanding. I pray that you make a decision to follow Christ all
the days of your life because in Him is life, peace, joy, and a love that
you have never known before. (Acts 4:12) (John 6:51) (John 1:1-4)
I hope this message encourages your heart to trust in the Lord Jesus Christ
all the days of your life. Make Him your Lord and Savior today if you have
never done so before because it will be the best decision you will ever make.
THOUGHTS OF HEAVEN
My thoughts have been on heaven a lot lately. I have a quote on my board
above my writing desk in my room that goes somewhat like this: “A woman
of wisdom guards her heart and diligently keeps her eyes upon her home and
heaven.”
When we are focused upon heaven, all the little mundane chores of life
become sparkled with a heavenly brilliance, that will last throughout
eternity. When we love the family and friends God has given to us with
all of our hearts; we will have blessings showered down from Heaven.
Yesterday was the hardest day I have had in some time. I had this void
within my heart all day--it would not leave me alone. It was the type of
void that we try to fill with earthly desires: coffee, chocolate, drugs,
movies, getting angry, yelling, hitting, and the list goes on. It was
gnawing at me, all I could do was praise Jesus.
What a crazy insane thing to do when the void is gnawing: Praise Jesus!
I was in the grocery store waiting for my children when a thought came to
open up the little hymnal I carry with me. I opened it up and began to
read the words upon the page:
When morning gilds the skies, my heart awaking cries,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Alike at work and prayer to Jesus I repair;
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Whene'er the sweet church bell peals over hill and dell,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
O hark to what it sings, as joyously it rings,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
When sleep her balm denies, My silent spirit sighs,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
When evil thoughts molest, with this I shield my breast,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Does sadness fill my mind? A solace here I find,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Or fades my earthly bliss? My comfort still is this,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
In Heaven's eternal bliss the loveliest strain is this,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
The powers of darkness fear when this sweet sound chant they hear
May Jesus Christ be praised!
To God, the Word, on high, the hosts of angels cry,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Let mortals, too, upraise their voice in hymns of praise;
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Rev. E. Caswell (1800)
When I read these words, it warmed my heart and the void dissipated into
thin air. Reading this hymn bought hope to my soul; even the saints of old
felt the ever present void that sin brings. I, as the saint of old; stood
in the market praising Jesus. Oh, how the dark world must have hissed at
me when I filled the void with Christ.
How are you filling the void within your soul?

Read and meditate on these scriptures:
Philippians 2:9-11 “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given
Him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee
should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the
earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to
the glory of God the Father.”
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 “For which cause we faint not; but though our outward
man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light
affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding
and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are
seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen
are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”
Matthew 16:19 Jesus says, “And I will give unto thee the keys of the
kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound
in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
Ephesians 6:10-12 “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the
power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to
stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and
blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of
the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
