935th -- Message On Time And Eternity

The Lord has spoken to my heart to write a message on the importance of
time. There are many moments when we take time for granted and we don't
do the things that are most important to us like paying attention to where
we will spend our eternity. That is the most important thing that we
should be thinking about, but many times we allow other things to fill our
minds and keep us from making the most important decision; accepting Christ
as our Lord and Savior. I hope this message speaks to your heart to see
the importance of getting right with God and keeping Him at the center of
your life. Time may seem to be on your side to make that decision later,
but don't let the enemy fool you because we never know when our time will
come to an end. (James 4:13-15) (2 Peter 3:10)

There are many ways that you can think about time because it can be
measured in a multitude of ways. You can use time with a stopwatch to
record the outcome of a race or you can use time as a countdown to signal
when an event is going to end or going to start. We use time to plan our
days, months and years. We use time to remember anniversaries, holidays,
special events, etc. Time is used on a daily basis in multitudes of ways,
but time is only relevant to us in this present world. When our time on
earth comes to an end, time will cease to exist. We will have passed from
a world that keeps track of days, months and years into an eternity that
is forever without time.

What we must realize is that life on Earth is very short when compared to
the forever of eternity. As long as one may live on the Earth, it will
not come close to the time that will be spent either in heaven or in
hell. It is for this reason that I believe we need to focus on where we
are going to spend our eternity. We can focus so much of our time on
things that do not matter and pay very little attention to the most
important thing; our eternity. You see, there was a time when you didn't
exist, but there will never be a time again when you will not be. You
will be forever alive even after you die physically on this Earth. That
is a biblical fact. The question is where will you spend your eternity?

We only have two options. It will either be heaven or hell. We will
either go to heaven because we made a conscious decision to accept Christ
and the finished work of the Cross or we will go to hell because we never
made the time to make Jesus Christ the Lord of our life. No person will
end up in hell or in heaven by accident. They will know that they made
that decision. This is further emphasized with the story of Lazarus and
the Rich Man. In Luke Chapter 16 we read about the rich man who died and
went to hell and begged Abraham to go to his five brothers who were still
alive on the Earth to tell them about that place of torment so they would
not end up there like he did. The rich man knew that it was his sins
which caused him to be in hell and he wanted his brothers to repent so that
they would be saved from that anguish. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18) (Luke 16:27-31)

It is very simple to get to heaven. Man tries to complicate with their
traditions what God has planned to be simple. In John chapter 3 Jesus
tells Nicodemus no man can see the Kingdom of God unless he is born-again.
There are many people who hear this term and confuse it. Being born-again
means being born of God's Spirit. Just as a person is born physically on
the Earth, they must also be spiritually born to be accepted by God; hence
the term born-again. When someone is born-again, that means they have
acknowledged their sins, repented of them and accepted Jesus Christ as
their Lord and Savior. Accepting Christ means that we have acknowledged
our shortfalls, that we believe Jesus is the Son Of God and that He died
on the Cross for our sins and rose from the grave on the third day.

Jesus is the only way to heaven. The Bible declares in Acts 4:12 “Neither
is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven
given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Jesus is enough for mankind.
We don't need to go anywhere else to receive our salvation. Jesus is
life, peace, joy and love. What the world cannot give, He freely offers.
Always know that God loves you no matter what. He simply waits for you to
acknowledge your shortfalls and call upon Him. Jesus says in revelations
3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice,
and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he
with me.” He waits with open arms for you to call upon Him. Recognize
your need for The Savior and know that you're not beyond redemption. He
can save anyone and make them cleaner than freshly fallen snow, but they
first must simply call upon the name of Jesus Christ and ask for it.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Psalm 103:10-14 “He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us
according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so
great is His mercy toward them that fear Him. As far as the east is from
the west, so far hath He removed our transgressions from us. Like as a
father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear Him. For
He knoweth our frame; He remembereth that we are dust.”

Romans 10:9-11 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;
and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture
saith, Whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed.”

2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men
count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any
should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

John 3:16-18 Jesus declares
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His
only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but
have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn
the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. He that
believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned
already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son
of God.”

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
