98th -- Don't Give Up...

It is very important that we stay steadfast in our faith and not give up
on the dreams and aspirations that God has laid on our hearts. There are
many people who miss out on God's best because they did not hang in there
until the end, but gave up before the they could see the victory. The
Bible declares in Galatians 6:9 "…let us not grow weary while doing good,
for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart." We will only
see results if we stay in the race that God has given us, but many people
going through trials and tribulations do not realize the key words are
"Going Through". The problem or trial will not last forever.

The Bible declares in Job 23:10 "…he knoweth the way that I take: when he
hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold." Be encouraged and know that
God is in control and when your trial is over, you will come forth stronger
than before and as the Bible explains; you will be as pure gold.

This is a great story that shows the results we will receive when we stand
strong and unmoved by how bad the circumstances may seem and the rewards
we will receive for not giving up. This story really spoke to my heart and
hope it does the same for you as well to never give up; for in due season
you will reap the rewards.

DON'T GIVE UP…

One day a young man was walking along an isolated road when he heard
something like a crying sound. He couldn't tell for sure what the sound
was but it seemed to be coming from underneath a bridge. As he approached
the bridge, the sound got louder and then he saw a pathetic sight. There,
lying in the muddy riverbed, was a puppy about two months old. It had a
gash on its head and was covered with mud. Its front legs were swollen
where they had been tightly bound with cords.

The young man was immediately moved with compassion and wanted to help the
dog, but as he approached, the crying stopped and the dog snarled his lip
and started to growl. But the young man did not give up. He sat down and
started gently talking to the dog. It took a long time but eventually the
dog stopped growling and the man was able to inch forward and eventually
touch the dog and begin unwrapping the tightly bound cord. The young man
carried the dog home, cared for its wounds, gave it food and water and a
warm bed. Even with all of this, the dog continued to snarl and growl
every time the young man approached. But the young man did not give up.

Weeks went by and the man continued caring for the puppy. Then one day, as
the young man approached, the dog wagged its tail. Consistent love and
kindness had won and a lifelong friendship of loyalty and trust began.

I think this is a great parable for life because so many times we encounter
a tough obstacle and rather than stay in the race and achieve the goal at
hand, we give up only inches from reaching the finish line. God never
promised we would stroll through life problem free, but He did promise He
would always be with us and give us the ability to overcome every obstacle.

I want to encourage you to never give up on anything no matter how hopeless
it may look to your natural eyes. Whether you are praying for your loved
ones to come to know the Lord or you are in need of a breakthrough whether
physical or financial, stay steadfast and unmoved in your faith, believing
God for every need to be met for He is the God of the impossible. (Mark 10:27)

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Psalm 86:4-7 "Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I
lift up my soul. For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and
plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee. Give ear, O LORD,
unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications. In the day of
my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me."

Galatians 6:9-10 "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season
we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do
good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith."

James 1:2-5 "My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers
temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire,
wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that
giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given
him."

All scriptures can be found in the King James Version.
