Feel The Wind

The other day when I arrived at work, I had to take care of some business
in the Clerk's Office and there's some friends I have over there that we
have special greetings more than just hi, how Ya Doin'. I said my usual
greeting and then a wonderful thing happened that I want to share with
my email buddies.

I said, boy, it sure is windy out there and has been for a couple days.
He said, sure has been. I said but you know, when you think of it, it
sure is a blessing to be able to feel the wind. In fact, it's a blessing
to feel anything. In fact, when you think about it, it is a blessing to
have transportation, to have a job to go to, to be able to walk to our
office building, to feel the cold, the rain, the sun, the dreary skies,
the bare trees against the gray skies which is so beautiful. Just stop
and notice them one morning or whenever you're out and about or just
look out your window.

Then feel the warmth of the building or your home when you've been out in
the weather, rainy, snowy, windy, all the things we complain about in this
part of the country and remember that cozy, warm feeling of comfort we get
when we step inside. It is such a blessing to be in the cold and have a
place to go to escape the cold if you need to or want to. I couldn't stop
counting my blessings that morning of all God's beauty he provided for us
to enjoy and how many people complain about having to drive in the snow or
walk in the rain or haven't seen the sunshine in days and don't stop to
smell the winter roses, the beauty of the snow, the beauty of the barren
trees, notice the beautiful shape of the trees that you can't see in the
summer because of the beautiful green leaves. Nor can you see birds perched
on the limbs in the summer but they're there.

It is a blessing to be able to put one foot in front of the other, to see,
hear, taste, smell, talk, have food to eat, heat in our homes, the
electricity works, we have hot water for our baths. The blessings are endless
if we stop to think of them. They are countless and we take them for granted.
Let's take the time to write down every blessing you can think of. The list
is countless. Especially the blessings that we don't even know about,
dangers seen and unseen.

I couldn't help but think of my friend Delvie who has been an invalid for
almost five years. She retired, played golf for about six months and then
was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Five years later and five brain operations
which she has survived and she is still believing for her healing. She
would give anything to get out of her bed or wheelchair to be stuck in the
snow or be rained on or just walk to the kitchen and open her refrigerator
door or comb her own hair, brush her teeth. Or be outside in a windy day.
Please keep her in your prayers and others you know on a sick list.

As I sat in the room talking to my friend in the Clerk's Office and I just
wanted to shout as loud as I could how blessed I felt I was. Right at that
moment I know God touched my heart and He won't let me forget that moment
until I shared it with you. I have lots of those moments and I'm sure you
do too. We don't have to wait on someone else to make us feel grateful.
All we have to do is look inside and feel the blessing.

Thanks for letting me touch your life today. I know just thinking about how
that moment makes me feel so eternally grateful to our Heavenly Father.

Sincerely Rose
