268th -- The Blood

The forgiveness that we receive when we come to the Lord Jesus Christ is
complete and unconditional. There is no one sin that God will not forgive
when we come to Him in repentance. The Bible declares in 1 John 1:9, "If we
confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to
cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Be encouraged in the Lord and know
that God does not condemn, but forgives and restores and makes new every
life that calls upon Him for forgiveness. If you are feeling condemned for
some past sin, please know that condemnation doesn't come from the Lord
because in Him there is only Peace, Joy, Love and Forgiveness. Call upon
Him if you haven't recently and share with God all that is on your heart.
He promises to receive you unto Himself and will in no way cast you out.

I hope you are blessed and encouraged by today's story.

THE BLOOD

One night in a church service a young woman felt the tug of God at her
heart. She responded to God's call and accepted Jesus as her Lord and
Savior. The young woman had a very rough past, involving alcohol, drugs,
and prostitution. But, the change in her was evident. As time went on she
became a faithful member of the church. She eventually became involved in
the ministry, teaching young children. It was not very long until this
faithful young woman had caught the eye and heart of the pastor's son. The
relationship grew and they began to make wedding plans. This is when the
problems began.

You see, about one half of the church did not think that a woman with a
past such as hers was suitable for a pastor's son. The church began to
argue and fight about the matter. So they decided to have a meeting. As
the people made their arguments and tensions increased, the meeting was
getting completely out of hand. The young woman became very upset about
all the things being brought up about her past. As she began to cry, the
pastor's son stood to speak.

He could not bear the pain it was causing his wife to be. He began to
speak and his statement was this: "My fiancée's past is not what is on
trial here. What you are questioning is the ability of the blood of Jesus
to wash away sin. Today you have put the blood of Jesus on trial. So, does
it wash away sin or not?"

The whole church began to weep as they realized that they were slandering
the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Too often, even as Christians, we
bring up the past and use it as a weapon against our brothers and sisters.
Forgiveness is a very foundational part of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus
Christ. If the blood of Jesus does not cleanse the other person completely
then it cannot cleanse us completely. If that is the case, then we are all
in a lot of trouble. What can wash away my sins, nothing but the blood of
Jesus...end of case!!!

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Isaiah 1:18-19 "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD:
though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they
be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient,
ye shall eat the good of the land."

2 Corinthians 5:17-19 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new
creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to Himself by Jesus
Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that
God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their
trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation."

Romans 8:1-2 "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in
Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the
law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law
of sin and death."

Romans 5:8-10 "But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we
were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified
by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if, when we
were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more,
being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life."

All scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
