342nd -- She Sees The Needs

It is important in life that we remember the example of Jesus when He was
on the earth. The Bible declares in Philippians 2:5-7 "Let this mind be in
you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought
it not robbery to be equal with God: But made Himself of no reputation, and
took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men."
The Lord who created all things thought it good to be as an equal with His
creation. He loved, cared for and healed all who came to Him in need, but
more importantly the Lord Jesus Christ led by example. (Matthew 8:16-17)

The Lord Jesus did for others the same as He expects us to do. The Lord
could not say to love your neighbor while He Himself did not. One of the
last things Jesus did before He was crucified on the cross of Calvary was
to wash the feet of His disciples. He did not think it to be beneath
Himself to serve His creation, but did so as our example to show us how we
are to treat one another. I pray that each of us continually remember the
Lord's example and try to do for others the same as we would want others
to do unto us. (John 13:34-35) (Luke 6:30-36) (John 13:12-17)

I hope you are blessed by today's message.

SHE SEES THE NEEDS

Joan was a distraught young woman when she came to work in a friend's
office. She had two small children and her husband had deserted her. She
was desperately trying to make it on her own.

One winter she couldn't afford oil for the furnace. The only heat she and
the children had came from the kitchen stove. A few months after starting
work her old car broke down and she couldn't get back and forth to work.
Fortunately, her employer helped her finance another one.

Joan was so kind, considerate, and thoughtful she was almost out of place
in a modern office. Other workers first thought that she was faking it.
Eventually they discovered she was totally genuine - every bit as nice a
person as she appeared to be. People with troubles, who needed comfort,
sought her out. Her smiles, sympathy, and interest became a lift everyone
relied on. She developed into a very valuable employee.

We stopped into our friend's office one day when they were celebrating
Joan's 25th year as an employee. A young engineer and his wife from Greece
had just stopped in to see her. When he was a boy, Joan had contributed
$20 a month for his support and education despite the problems of keeping
her own children cared for. By persistent questioning we also discovered
something else. He wasn't the only one. Over the years she had also
provided support for ten other foreign orphans.

Fortunately, Joan's employer has provided a good pension for her future.
We say fortunately, because it is difficult for Joan to keep anything for
herself when she sees others in need. That's love.

We should always remember that our good deeds are never forgotten. Many
times we do something good for someone and quickly forget about it, but the
person that has received our good deed never forgets. Be encouraged to
lend a helping hand when the opportunity arises and know that God is well
pleased when you do for others the same as you would have them do unto you.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Philippians 2:1-4 "If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any
comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and
mercies, Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love,
being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or
vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than
themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on
the things of others."

2 Corinthians 4:7-10 "But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that
the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled
on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing
about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus
might be made manifest in our body."

John 13:12-17 "So after He had washed their feet, and had taken His
garments, and was set down again, He said unto them,
Know ye what I have
done to you? Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. If
I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash
one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that ye should do as
I have done to you. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not
greater than his lord; neither He that is sent greater than He that sent
Him. If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
"

Revelation 22:12-14 Jesus declares "
And, behold, I come quickly; and My
reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am
Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
Blessed
are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of
life, and may enter in through the gates into the city."

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
