362nd -- Answered Prayer

With the many blessings that surround us we should always be quick to be
thankful for all that we have. The Lord is faithful in meeting His
children's needs, but many times we forget to show our gratitude because we
focus more on the trials of daily life than His provision. No matter what
hardships come our way, we are to remember the goodness of God and make our
best efforts to be at peace with ourselves as well as with others. The
Bible declares in Psalm 118:24, "This is the day which the LORD hath made;
we will rejoice and be glad in it." Remember this scripture every time you
are tempted to have a bad day and keep in mind that your positives greatly
outnumber any negatives that come your way. (1 Thessalonians 5:15-22)

I hope you are encouraged by today's message to appreciate the simple
things in life that are our greatest blessings.

ANSWERED PRAYER

You came home cranky because a deadline got moved up. She came home grumpy
because the day care forgot to give your five-year-old her throat medicine.
Each of you wanted a little sympathy from the other, but neither got any.
So there you sit at the dinner table - cranky and grumpy - with little
Emily. Emily folds her hands to pray (as she has been taught), and the two
of you bow you heads (but not your hearts) and listen. From where this
prayer comes, God only knows.

"God, its Emily. How are you? I'm fine, thank you. Mom and Dad are mad.
I don't know why. We've got birds and toys and mash potatoes and each
other. Maybe you can get them to stop being mad? Please do or it's just
gonna be you and me having any fun tonight. Amen."

The prayer is answered before it's finished; you both look up in the middle
and laugh at the end and shake your heads and say you're sorry. And you
both thank God for the little voice who reminded you about what matters.

Be encouraged and know that God wishes for you to live a life filled with
Peace and Joy. We are to let the Joy of the Lord be our strength. Never
allow minute circumstances to change your attitude on how your day should
go. You be the dictator on how your day ends up and not the trials that
come before you. Let your focus be on the God who created you rather than
any negatives that come before you. The Bible declares in Isaiah 26:3,
"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because
he trusteth in Thee." Keep your trust in Him and make an extra effort to
see the beauties that surround you. (3 John 2) (Galatians 5:22-23)

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 "Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth
not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself
unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things,
believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things."

Philippians 4:4-7 "Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let
your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for
nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving
let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which
passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ
Jesus."

Psalm 31:5-8 "Into Thine hand I commit my spirit: Thou hast redeemed me, O
LORD God of truth. I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I
trust in the LORD. I will be glad and rejoice in Thy mercy: for Thou hast
considered my trouble; Thou hast known my soul in adversities; And hast
not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: Thou hast set my feet in a
large room."

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
