555th -- Grace: Unearned And Unearnable!

The love and mercy that God has towards His creation can never be measured
by our finite minds. His love reaches from everlasting to everlasting and
is offered with purity never having a motive or a set of requirements to
receive this great love. The Bible says that we love God because He first
loved us. When we meditate on His goodness and mercy, it is impossible to
not have a deep love for God and be thankful for what He has delivered us
from in times past. I pray that you think about what God has done in your
life and see the many moments that His grace covered your life and
delivered you from the snares of the enemy. Always remember that God loves
you greatly and nothing in your past could stop Him from loving you and
receiving you unto Himself again. (Psalm 103:8-18) (1 John 4:19) (2 Corin. 5:17-19)

I hope this message speaks to your heart to appreciate and be thankful for
God's grace that is limitless in its ability to get us through in the
difficult times of life.

GRACE: UNEARNED AND UNEARNABLE!

Grace - God's unmerited favor on the part of the recipient. It is unearned
and unearnable! It is free to the one who receives it but costly to the one
who bestows it. It cost our Lord Jesus His life. A kind of 'merit system'
permeates our lives; we have adhered to the 'work for reward' mentality. So
when grace does come our way, we sometimes hesitate in believing the giver.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a Lutheran minister who stood against the tyranny of
Nazi Germany and paid with his life, said, “Cheap grace is the grace we
bestow on ourselves: grace without discipleship, grace without the cross,
grace without Jesus Christ, living and incarnate. But costly grace...is the
kingly rule of Christ, for whose sake a man will pluck out the eye which
causes him to stumble, it is the call of Jesus Christ at which the disciple
leaves his nets and follows Him.” God's grace brings about qualities of
conduct in the believer and can change one's life.

Sometimes we find ourselves with a task that simply looks too big for us.
We do not just need a cup of God's strength added to our own; rather we
need His strength in us, and He will give it! God says, “My grace is
sufficient for you: for My strength is made perfect in weakness”
2 Corinthians 12:9. Seeing our weakness as the entry point of God's
strength gives access to His power!

“And God is able to make all grace abound to you so that in all things at
all times having all that you need you will abound in every good work”
2 Corinthians 9:8. He can give you what you need as you face a particular
challenge. His grace will extend to your emotions, too, so that you will be
able to overflow even to the point of touching others.

“Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that
we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Psalm 32:7-8 “Thou art my hiding place; Thou shalt preserve me from
trouble; Thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. I
will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will
guide thee with Mine eye.”

2 Corinthians 9:8-9 “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you;
that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every
good work: (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to
the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.”

Romans 6:14-17 “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not
under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are not
under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye
yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey;
whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be
thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the
heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.”

Psalm 91:14-16 “Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I
deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known My name. He
shall call upon Me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and
shew him My salvation.”

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
