806th -- The Greatest Success Of All

It is important in life to be of service to others. When our life on Earth
is said and done it will only be the blessings that we bestowed upon others
that will be thought upon and remembered. We should never be like the
world who are only out for their gain and best interest. That way of life
is very lonely and very unfulfilled. We who are givers know of the peace
and sense of fulfillment that God places in our hearts. He lets us know
that we are following the right path of giving to others just as the Lord
has given to us. Jesus says in Matthew 10:8 “...Freely you have received,
freely give.” Be encouraged to not only want for your best interest, but
also strive to help others become better. I promise that you will find
more joy in seeing others happy than you would even for your own self.

I hope this message ministers to your heart to see that life is to be
shared with others helping them to reach their potential. I firmly believe
that it is by giving that we receive and it is in blessing others that we
become blessed.

THE GREATEST SUCCESS OF ALL

“Skipper, a special message just came in for you from the admiral,” the
sailor said to his captain as he saluted. “I have it right here.”

“Read it to me,” the captain ordered.

The sailor read, “You are without a doubt, the most conceited,
self-absorbed, Ego-Maniac ever to command a ship in the United States Navy.”

The skipper responded, “Have that communication decoded at once!”

For some people, it's all about them. For others, it's all about you. Like
author Leil Lowndes says, “There are two kinds of people in this life.
Those who walk into a room and say, 'Well, here I am.' And those who walk
in and say, 'Ahh, there you are.'”

Which are you? Are you more focused on getting your own needs met, or on
easing the burdens of others? Are you mostly trying to make yourself happy,
or are you interested in the happiness of those around you?

Albert Einstein reminded us that “life isn't worth living, unless it is
lived for someone else.” And toward the end of his life, he removed the
portraits of two scientists -- Isaac Newton and James Maxwell -- from his
wall. He replaced them with portraits of Mahatma Gandhi and Albert
Schweitzer. Einstein explained that it was time to replace the image of
success with the image of service.

Maybe the greatest success of all is when we realize that it's not all
about us. And maybe the greatest happiness to be found is when we share
the happiness of others.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Proverbs 16:18-20 “Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit
before a fall. Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than
to divide the spoil with the proud. He that handleth a matter wisely shall
find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he.”

Philippians 2:3-7 “Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in
lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not
every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the
form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself
of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in
the likeness of men.”

Romans 12:3 “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that
is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think;
but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure
of faith.”

John 13:12-15 “So after He had washed their feet, and had taken His
garments, and was set down again, He said unto them,
Know ye what I have
done to you? Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. If
I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash
one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that ye should do as
I have done to you.

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
